What strategies do you use to help with focus?
ОтветитьVery helpful
ОтветитьI had 5 minutes to spare before leaving to play round-robin singles this morning. I have ADHD. Focus is my #1 problem. I searched for "tennis focus" hoping for a quick tip, and boy did I get one. I repeated the "I am" statement and thought about nothing else, not even winning. Lo and behold, my footwork was better, my shots were cleaner, and I won games from stronger players. I'm looking forward to the masterclass!
Ответитьthanks for this!! i am a great player with great technique but often lose focus and lose easy matches because of it. hopefully these tips will help!
ОтветитьGood stuff Richard. Hopefully you come back to Arizona soon.
ОтветитьYour masterclass on mental toughness (from the link) is by far the single best class on the topic that I’ve ever experienced! I personally have great mental toughness, but I’m looking for solutions for my practice partner who has an entrenched loser and victim mindset. Perhaps hearing these things via your masterclass from a “stranger,” (you) will help him; after all, I’m just a 4.5 shrink who’s knowledgeable about what you’ve covered, but what do I know? I’ve sent him a link to your masterclass, and pray that he’s open to it, for it could make a 1000% difference if only he’s open to it. Thank you!
ОтветитьFor me it helps. Before every stroke, i say: no missing, but in my mind i have long version, there is no way im missing shot, it doesn't matter what comes, flat, short, moonball, spin....
Thanks for different perspective of tennis... It helped me a lot with my wrist, mobility,....
I’ll try and let you know. Staying focus and present is one of the things I found the most difficult at present. I can have a couple of brilliant games and then back to the silly mistakes, bad decisions, awful shots. It is a process I guess and we need to train to get better
ОтветитьExcellent video
ОтветитьHow brilliant 👍👌
ОтветитьThe power of Psycholinguistics. The brain learns what we teach and say to it. I like how Nadal says he didn't lose a match but that his opponent won the match. He also says that if he is playing at 60%, it is still better than 50%. That's positive thinking!
