Sometimes a horror movie would be much better if the people showed some rational fear and logic. Who the hell would stay in the open water in ocean after they just killed a megalodon. If that was me not only would I get out in a second but I would literally be trying to throw my friends overboard for that unfunny joke.

Theory: They caught a large greatwhite shark or the one they caught was a juvenile meg, actually the meg is not alone in the movie there are more, they only showed one or in different meg scenes different meg appears. In the meg 2, there are actually 4 megs so its possible that there are actually more in the deep sea. Just like in other similar movies like the giant crocodiles or anaconda, there is not only 1 villain but more hidden, if the main is killed more is gonna come.

The dead one was smaller so it was a shark and the big one is a meg

"We did what people always do, discover, and then destroy." I mean, i get, but that thing was not only going slaughter people in the ocean. It would endanger the oceans environment, plus that thing tried to eat a kid, his granddaughter.
