I really like the idea of no cables. Just make sure it's not proprietary.
ОтветитьYour reaction to this is dumb ... i was looking for some real informations like how they are able to push 600w for a 4090 through the pcb, but apparently this is not a tech channel only a guy complaining and telling his opinion. And i don't need your opinion sorry but not sorry.
ОтветитьCables look like shit
ОтветитьI have been wanting MB connectors moved to the back for a long time. I like the new designs and will buy in. Sometimes change hurts.. for a little while
ОтветитьI guess making the computers more like Mac is better.
ОтветитьYa gotta have a gold toilet to be able to buy this stuff it sucks period, I hate it.
ОтветитьHonestly, that motherboard power connector on the graphics card is actually kind of convenient as a concept. if they added a way to secure the graphics card to the motherboard "shield" or to the case through the motherboard with two small L brackets and standard motherboard screws, that'd make dealing with GPU sag (because everyone seems to want to overbuild these ridiculously massive GPUs,these days, even if they are ajust a basic xx60/X600xt mid range card) even more convenient.
Maybe even mandatory, as GPU sag could be the most dangerous issue when it comes to a connector that's supposed to push up to 600W of electrical power through it.
Sorry, but it's a "OK boomer" rant you got there
ОтветитьI wouldn't hate cpu fans, usb, sata, etc in the back. I like m.2 in back but I like v12 and 24 pin in front. cpu power I could take it or leave it.
ОтветитьI find the topic absolutely hilarious I have three enthusiast level PCs and there’s really not that many cables. It doesn’t make that big of a difference. I find it absurd to make an issue over seeing a couple cables absolutely stupid. 😂
ОтветитьImagine unironically shitting on concept designs.
ОтветитьASUS: “Yeah ummmm don’t invite them back 😅.”
😂😂😂😂😂
I would see NZXT doing this as they have a clean design... But this is too busy anyway to really appreciate any level of aesthetic impact from going cable free.
ОтветитьWho cares what your PC looks anyway. I would rather have it in another room. It should have high performance and be quiet in my opinion.
Ответитьyou are out of touch XD
ОтветитьThis also avoids the 4090 cable melting.
ОтветитьVolviendo a los tiempos de las ranuras ISA e E-ISA.
ОтветитьI like it but it needs to be consistent across boards, if not, no. It's not worth it.
ОтветитьI have to agree with you on this, and it does limit your choices. None the less it does present a very clean machine..l
ОтветитьIn all honesty this is much needed for those still using Nvidia cards and those stupid 12v Hpwr connectors. Seeing cables in a computer will only hurt those who already have mental conditions requiring meds or alternate training methods. It's a cool concept and will help those who suffer conditions triggered by clutter for sure, but the cost is just too crazy to justify it currently, not to mention all the specialized pieces required to make it all work. It's here to stay though and will eventually be the new norm within say 5 years. Great video as always Paul!
ОтветитьSo you are singing a different Tune these days. LOL.🤣😂😇😎🤛
ОтветитьI actually like visible wires when they're color matched and well organized- to me wires make things look better when done right.
ОтветитьI really really really really REALLY miss the days when I could upgrade my GPU fan, as well...
ОтветитьThey have finally came out...advanced btf motherboards and gpu
ОтветитьWhat a horrible trend. It doesn't even look good. It just looks empty in the front and messy in the back
ОтветитьIt's hard to argue that aesthetically having front cables looks better. I'd rather not see any cables tbh, and I hope they start making more motherboards like this
ОтветитьIf it was affordable it could save money on needing to buy cable extensions.
ОтветитьPC building is about performance and looks too. You know aesthetics matter. You said it yourself, when you said you liked "nice sleeved cables". Those are aesthetics. You don't need sleeved cables. They don't boost your performance. They're more expensive, but that extra cost goes directly into aesthetics. And you know a cool thing about aesthetics? It's subjective. Taste is not objective. I might like black computers, you might like all white ones. Some even like Noctua colors. I might like RGB, you might not like it. You might like cables, other people might not. I don't think Asus or MSI are standardizing anything here. They're just offering new products. They're increasing the variety of products from which you can choose to build your PC. And even if this becomes a trend, well, trends usually appear, fade away, and then eventually come back. Give it a rest, will ya?
ОтветитьTBH i have problems with cables.. and i dw to spend extra on colour cables jsut to look nice.
I am all in for MSI project Zero, as long as it look neat and no clutter, and goes well with white colour theme.
Joke all you want, we all strive to have extra clean builds and hide as much cables as we can.
ОтветитьOk, please stop…
I just had to swap a power supply, and would have loved if the power was connected to the back instead of wrapping around the case/mother board..
Removing the 24pin with hard tubes in my way, or the two 8 pins tucked under the radiators, was a PITA
God the more you went on this the more you sounded like an out of touch old man
ОтветитьIgnoring MSI concept because that cable in the front looks ridiculous, Asus concept is AMAZING!! And fot the life of me, I can't understand why this isn't the standard for the last 20+ years. Make EVERY connection in the back of the frigin MB... GENIUS!!!!!
Regardless of what you @paulshardware, seem to think or who your sponsors are (or in this case, aren't), most DIY builders do care how their systems look when finished. I built every computer that I owned for the last (at least) 20 years and, how it looks, how clean it is in the end, takes WAY more time then the actual fiting of parts, wich is pretty straight forward.
The only issue I may have with the Asus concept is how hard that new connection can be pushed powerwise. If it brings in any trouble, just use the same connectors we use now for power but attached to the MB. Other then that, major kudos!!
I hope the industry can agree with a standard and go with it. I for one, will be on board.
Edit: Answering your question: YES!!!! You are out of touch!

ОтветитьCable management takes half the time of the entire build, requires a lot of patience, creativity and is in essence a work of art... AND THAT'S what gives every build a unique character and makes it truly YOURS.
ОтветитьWow, this guy is a complainer.
ОтветитьYou're wrong. This power connectors is a great idea. But, there needs to be an agreed upon industry standard. Your hatred of new ideas is appalling.
ОтветитьI'm a fan of btf motherboards. Today there are plenty of cases that are compatible with it. I do not see any issue with practicality and being able to hide all the cable mess in the back is a big plus for me. The future is now old man
ОтветитьNo you suck, its a great idea and Ill definitely buy it. There are plenty of people like me that hate cables too.
ОтветитьTransition sucks, but this concept will help improve airflow by removing the number of obstructions in the main chamber.
Ответитьcase is not an issue. nothing a dremil cant solve
Ответитьwhat are you on about? this is great and my next build will be like this
ОтветитьI have been building PC's for over 30 years now and having the cables in the back is awesome. I remember when glass panels first came out and how people said it was pointless and then we started using sleeved cables to clean up that huge mess of cables that we had in our computers before we could see inside. I just built a TT Tower 300 build with the Project Zero motherboard and it has a TT AIO in it and I am not a fan of the tubes so my next mod to my current PC is to switch the liquid cooling over to a stealth liquid cooling build where you don't see any tubes.
ОтветитьCompletely off base
ОтветитьGet with the times old man
ОтветитьPoor noob
