Spent my summers in Holden Beach growing up. Highly recommend you get a good quality cast iron pan for cooking. Wipe clean and great taste once seasoned. 🙌

ОтветитьYou need the dinghy on the back side of the first big wake. A boat as slow and shallow as yours doesn't have much of a wake, so it doesn't matter. I helped a big houseboat bail their swamped aluminum vee bottom dinghy late one night. They said they had sunk it before also. I later saw a picture of them on facebook. Their stern wake was a foot taller than the dinghy, so when they slowed down real fast, that wave rolled right over the boat. I reached out to them & let them know that was the problem & they thanked me. If you are slowly manuvering, the tow can be tightened up or tied tight to the side.
ОтветитьLooking forward to you getting on the Erie Canal whenever you start again. Just let me know when.
ОтветитьWhat an amazing trip
ОтветитьThank you for sharing.
ОтветитьLove it, Love it, Love it. Thanks for the ride.
ОтветитьAnother great episode! I really have enjoyed tagging along with you and Wavey! I sure have learned a lot from this adventure.
Ответить👍🏻 awesome video! Thanks! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
ОтветитьNICE!!!!! Thanks guys!
ОтветитьAnother great part of the trip very enjoyable, I’ve always wanted to try scallops just impossible to get fresh here.yall take care 👍✌️
ОтветитьThat boat you seen trawling is a 1979 mocan shrimp boat built in Sneads Ferry NC that was my boat thanks gary n
ОтветитьNo one wants to hear anyone talking with food in their mouths.
ОтветитьGrand adventure of a man and his dog travelling by water craft. So glad Brenton includes us.
ОтветитьThanks for this one. I did this stretch a couple of times back in the late ‘70s on my grandfather’s old wooden sailboat. Imagine the rock shrimp were $1.50 a pound…. I miss those easy days.
ОтветитьWavey is a Star ⭐️ everywhere - I love watching her on the shopping cart rides - she is so well behaved & happy ❤- There were really pretty views on this adventure - Thank you for sharing
ОтветитьAwesome ❤❤
ОтветитьYou went right by us here at Ocean Isle Beach. Glad you had a good time in our neck of the woods.
ОтветитьGreat episode, but, you're killin me with the fresh seafood shots! That Nomad was riding a bit low in the water, eh? I'm brining my NOMAD home in a couple of weeks. :(
ОтветитьWhy don’t you have a pole on your bow sticking up at max height so you don’t have to guess weather you clear or not ?
ОтветитьAnother GREAT segment of the Journey!
ОтветитьAre you going to complete the loop and if so when will you be posting the remainder of the trip - really enjoy what you have posted so far
ОтветитьAnother great video so many sights to see. I figured you would be back on the loop in the spring since you will be in the cold part of the country just wondering about it?
ОтветитьI love James Taylor's song Carolina in My Mind, sung by Alison Krauss
ОтветитьYesss. A new episode.
ОтветитьWould a 40 foot pontoon house boat be capable of doing the loop other then the great lakes I wouldn't dare put one in the great lakes I live close to lake Erie
ОтветитьI think the idea for towing a dingy is to have it plane when the tow boat is at the speed it planes at so the distance it is or its placement within the boats wake can make it plane and tow with very little resistance. Now all that being said, I don’t own a boat and only on rare occasions do I even board one. So what do I know!! 😂 😉
Ответить🤷🏼
ОтветитьI love that theme song! 🎶😉👍
ОтветитьRecently subbed from another channel shout out. Love the video! Thanks for sharing.
Ответить$33 bucks on fresh seafood!!? Breaking the bank Brenton...
ОтветитьI love your closing song. Awesome dude! Made me smile from ear to ear.
ОтветитьGreat trip. Enjoyed the show 👍
ОтветитьHey man!! That one went too fast..lol…great video
ОтветитьDismal Swamp?
Who would call the Dismal Swamp "Dismal"?
How about someone who had to train and live there for a month?
Dismal INDEED!!!
I spent my summer this year recovering from a nasty fall ..no one told me 68 year old guys are not supposed to be climbing trees 😮😮😮😮? Who knew ??😂😂
I get a little teary watching these guys I should have been out there 30 years ago . Mite be a lot happier now 🎉🎉🎉🎉
I was watching your GA supplement today and yiu mentioned you like to walk cemetaries. If you haven't already passed Beaufort NC, ask locals about the "girl in the cask" buried there. Very unique story
ОтветитьBe careful of those "backdoors" as they may have gators in them. The first three beaches/islands as you cross over from South Carolina are nice: Sunset Beach, Emerald Isle and Holden Beach. Right at the border is the town of Calabash NC which is known for seafood and 50 years ago had just 5 restaurants. Now the place has grown up! Southport is a charming town! And no, you don't want to fight and ebb tide as you are going up the Cape Fear River as a part of the ICW. The distance from the entrance to the Cape Fear at Oak Island to the exit at Snow's Cut is not that far but an enormous amount of water flows through there at ebb tide.
ОтветитьWe're going to have to discuss your fascination with long pointy things 😂
ОтветитьI tow mine a ways back, because I'll get on plane and it will be properly positioned in the wake.
ОтветитьI'm a hillbilly like to do things my own ways I've got a Brand New Suzuki that I bought 18 years ago to go on my great trip but I had a heart attack instead,, as I say this is a Suzuki motorcycle close to 1000 cc's, could I use that motor as an inboard of some sort to push my barge it don't seem like you'd be that big a deal I'm never going to ride the bike again I can only do about an hour and a half two hours on it,, if anyone has ever had any ideas crazy as mine play at last night on the net or the phone

ОтветитьAgain thank you for sharing your guys adventure! I've always wanted to do the great loop and hoping to do so within the next couple years!
ОтветитьTry scallop quickly browned in smoking bacon oil..
ОтветитьAre Gravey and you hunkered down for the big storm? Stay safe, my friend.
ОтветитьWonder where he was as the hurricane passed through the east coast? I’m not sure how far ahead he is of posting videos. Can anyone tell me? Worried.
ОтветитьHope that you weathered the storm okay, and where are you at now?
ОтветитьSo what’s your favorite anchor to use?
ОтветитьThat light house made me think of the one in cedar city Utah
ОтветитьHi 👋 Brenton and Wavey and Nancy 😊😊
