Refer to your servoce dog as a guide dog when talking to other ppl, especially in places with food.
There are very few actual guide dogs...and even fewer ppl posing as if they have one. So it sounds more legit.

Years ago, I tested my service dog the same way. I put him in a down stay and laid a pastrami sandwich on his paw. Because of my symptoms, I didn't get back to him for half an hour, poor kid. While he didn't touch it, it was stale and saturated with drool. Of course I let him have it! It was the only decent thing to do. ❤

not gonna lie, i thought it was a waste of food until i realized it was training, we've had to train our own dog (not a service dog) to do this also, she would launch herself at the sound of food hitting the floor, our worry is that we would drop a pill on the floor and she would dive for it and eat it

My girl will sit and look at her food and only eat when told "get it". She is the best! I can put food on the coffee table and leave the room and it will be there when I get back, unless the cat is in the room and then all bets are off.
