Dr Dre Beat HP Audio Laptop

can i use regular non beats headphones to experience this beats audio sound or is it only through the speakers?

The Black Eyed Peas made this shit look real weak. I bet even Dr.Dre was like 'WTF?'

@mplavignev Since the switch to Intel architecture, Macs are essentially glorified PCs. The debate is now Mac vs other manufacturers. While it's not legal, it's even possible to install OS X on non-Mac boxes. Just imagine the PC you could build with the money you spent on your MBP; it would rape your MBP up and down the street, and be able to run all of that fancy Mac software just the same, so long as all of the parts are compatible(and if you're skilled enough, you can write your own drivers.)

@Shwaggetyshfifty People want easy and simple stuff. I have a friend with a Core i7 PC with crashes MUCH more than my core 2 duo MBP. PCs don't have a big glass multitouch trackpad (wich is one of the BEST things about the mac) nor a glowing Apple logo at the back...

@armandollv I wont deny that Mac wins over when you don't want like to think too hard, you've got me there. I've had a Samsung laptop with i3-370m and 4GB RAM since December, and I haven't had a single crash on WIN7, though I have had 1 crash running Ubuntu. You're not the first person to bring up the multitouch trackpad like it's the greatest thing since sliced bread, but I can guarantee it's not worth an extra $1k.

@armandollv Mac vs PC is a false dichotomy, as Macs are essentially PCs that can't be customized beyond a narrow line of products, so I would choose to build my own box, perhaps even with the AMD Phenom II X6, and if OS X was absolutely necessary, I would multi-boot a hackintosh version of OS X Snow Leopard, Ubuntu 11.04, maybe Linux Mint Debian, Windows 7, and Windows XP.

@Warrantdylan a realtek hd sound on board is pretty much all you need IF you have a decent pair of speakers for more than 300 bucks and an amp for like 150.- , and i don't mean some stupid lifestyle shit. i mean focal, b&w, nubert, teufel, jbl etc. Btw you can throw the Beats headphones in the bin. they sound like 50 bucks headphones. if you want some good headphones for 100-350.- buy some AKG or Beyerdynamic, you won't need another pair, if you have listened to one of these! ;-)

@HarveyMushman85 btw, ALL build in speakers in laptops are SHIT! it's just simple physics, there is no volume in a laptop and the speakers are tiny and full-range, so they have no bass and they sound like a tin can @ >5kHz. Don't let the bullshit man fool you!

had this laptop 4 couple days now (christmas gift lol) & the sound is good but sooo diffrnt from my mac & taking me a lil bit to figure everything out. also its extremly heavy so i think i'll be using it mostly at home and taking my mac air out, but watching movies is greaaat =)

ah you had a defective laptop my headphones work plus microphone and adopter for my stereo too the laptop please buy one it is under 5 dollars! and of course they change things around ! on a laptop they want you to spend more money! by the way the sound of beatsaudio is awesome i love the in studio sound or on stage performance on this one i had not had an issue but it was a challenge to get your settings correct

@Ic3ybudz yeah me too just bought this one back in December 2nd! i am loving it ! i have 2 fans to keep the laptop cool plus it goes to sleep when am not in use of this computer it is great on seccurity updates and hard drive updates i am loving it yes the speed is great i love it i love how it is up to speed while watching movies awesome awesome! had not had a problem with this HP Beats audio laptop ran nearly 800 00 dollars for this one! yeah just learn to be patient

Get an Asus laptop and avoid Beats altogether. Get a high-end amp and a pair of AKG K701s if you're looking for sooooound.

MacBook Pro: a serious laptop, maybe overpriced HP Beats: a hipster laptop for rich kids who think: bass = quality You could also stay on Windows and choose Asus, Toshiba, Lenovo or Sony laptops. HP, Dell, Acer, ... all suck. Btw my job is to repair computers, the computers with the most problems are the ones I stated as laptops that suck.

Get a macbook pro. I am no apple fan boy, but i had so many laptops in the past. Macbook was the most reliable, smooth, and fast laptop. Also the trackpad is freggin awesome. Plus you don't have to shut it off, just put it to sleep. Other laptops becomes laggy and hot when you just put it to sleep. And macbook barely gets hot, and no noise at all. Seriously you won't regret it.

Have had HP products for 15 years, desktops, notebooks, printers, scanners... none of them have failed. If you buy the right HP products - not the cheapest - you get good, reliable, durable machines. The same goes for Lenovo, Asus and Toshiba. Avoid the cheapest range of products. Lenovo's Edge series for instance is really, really bad; the motherboards crash and their build quality sucks. Agree that Acer sucks big time, perhaps the worst of them all.

I love the design of this laptop. I hate the aluminium industrial look of a macbook but the matt black finish and red lights looks really sleek. If I bought it, I'd have to put a sticker over the beats logo though. Although I like the look, I don't like the idea of promoting a rather average overpriced pair of headphones.
