I'm no huge fan of Google, but they're not a monopoly because they drove out or bought up all the competition—they're a monopoly because their competitors are incompetent.

In the late 70’s, the US government didn’t break up airline companies. It instead deregulated, and market competition met demand. Between the likes of IP laws and government regulations on underground lanes for ISPs, big tech is so encumbered by government monitoring that of course only big tech companies being the highest bidder with congressional lobbyists would stand to benefit. Breaking up something is only temporary when the policies that exist by top executives in said big companies still influence an industry.

They do need to be busted up, or at the very least, they need to be severely reprimanded and fined. They are abusing their market position to lockdown addon features that they have deemed undesirable.

The censorship and dirty tricks are easy to fix.
Amend the CDA, section 230.
Require a declaration from them.
They get to Register as a Carrier and enjoy the protections of CDA 230 but they have ZERO control of user content or interactions... including censorship, editing, "clarification" where they paste what they require you to believe over your video...
They get no DMCA automated system... somebody wants a legal fight they don't get to do it from the shadows.

They get a hold button... for removal of illegal content.
Use of this feature constitutes an actionable accusation with recourse if they're wrong.
They get no button for someone losing an argument on a public forum...
As a public forum, it becomes a town square venue.
