When it comes to exporting I always go with 16 bits, 44.1/48 KHz depending on the source (if the source is 96 KHz I convert it to 48 KHz first) and no dither at all.
For a nice WAV file. I also export an MP3 file so the client can listen to the master on his/her phone.
Bro, I love the way you speak as in your tone, so innocence and humbleness in your voice, which tells me you are a good hearted person and well behaved person in real life. You probably always behave nicely with everyone as much as possible. Keep it up. Don't change yourself.
ОтветитьClearly the wrong settings because my stuff got crushed on Spotify 😂😂😂
ОтветитьI never dithered before but I will now, thanks!
ОтветитьThanx man
ОтветитьShould we not be aiming for 24 bit?. Do most online streaming sites not support 24 bit? Ta
ОтветитьI’m confused, why is it so crucial to submit a wav file if the streaming platforms are going to convert to mp3? Wouldn’t it be better to be in control of that conversion if it’s going to inevitably happen anyway?
ОтветитьThe label asked me to send them the file in 16 -bit but i bounced in 24-bit. Is there a way to convert this without issues?
That is: to convert the final bounce I sent in 24-bit to 16-bit successfully?
Thanks.
Very informative, thank you.
Ответитьwtf are you all talking?) in EDM you can easy hear that bass and highs thrown away when you render your track in 16bit from DAW. You can hear it anywhere. Car, Iphone, Studio monitors. You mix your track in 32bitfloat (which means 24bit) and then if you render it out in 16bit you will lose half of a file you make. You can hear that track is not the same as you made it in your DAW. Of course you have to render 24bit always lol. And release your music in24bit for Spotify. Cause you made your music in project in 24bit. Fl studio and others are 24bit inside the DAW.
ОтветитьHey bro, plz help can you plz tell me "is 44100/24 bit good export setting?? I use ableton live 10 with m-audio fastrack windows 10..I am asking because when I rendered/exported my file into wave..it gives crackling sound in the start..I dont know why this is happening?? Because in my DAW it is sounding completely fine and I gave a lil bit headroom to not distorting it..Should I export in 16bit dither on..?? Please help..
ОтветитьHi. If I want to convert to mp3 directly from the DAW, then I need dither or not? Has mp3 a bitdepth too?
ОтветитьI always use dither, because it's built-in in my limiter. Useful, and also a little limiting, because i can't use the master fader after a dither :D
ОтветитьSo I followed the steps in this video and I also check the bit depth, sample rate requirements, and even video requirements, of any streaming sites I upload to in WAV format, to make sure that it doesn't ruin the quality of my audio but I still have the same problem. I also checked my computer (macbook pro) and made sure my internal EQ was turned off. But still the quality never sounds as good on streaming sites as it does on my DAW. Any idea why this is?
ОтветитьIt's rare to find producers that explain things as simple & entertaining as you do, thank you.
ОтветитьI use dithering
ОтветитьStraight to the point, thank you so much!
ОтветитьHi, are you saying that i can choose dither in my Fabfilter L2 and not select dither when exporting from my logic project settings?
ОтветитьWhat about resample rate? On the Reaper render window it offers you 128 as Good and 320 as Excellent. I select 320. Correct??
ОтветитьWhat about export for vinyl? Anything different?
Ответитьone thing with ableton is that there are several dither settings, which doesnt get addressed in your DAW, do you know anything about this? and do you recommend just running our whole session in 44.1 - 16bit so when were mixing, we have an accurate representation of how our song is going to sound? or should i run my session in 48khz - 32bit and downsample/dither to 44.1khz - 16bit on export?
Ответитьhow about resampling quality
ОтветитьHi! Thank you for teaching about the expirt settings! Also, I tried to go by the link of the free plugin guide... but it keeps stating errors of digital threat like malicious phishing and stuff... ??? I also checked in the online software "VirusTotal"
ОтветитьI love the way you zoomed in with the “DONT” about mp3🤣 ive had so many arguments with people that sent them to me and didn’t understand why i wanted them to go re export in wav🤦♂️🤣
ОтветитьSo you think uploading 16/44 to distrokid is better than 24/44? im genuinely asking, not trying to prove you wrong lol, i trust your knowledge and am wondering if i should switch it up, i came from analog/tape/cd world when i learned originally, so i use to always do 16/44, and i always dithered, but in daw ive got in habit of 24/44, and stopped dithering, cause i figured the apps its going out to are gonna possibly knock it down to 16 and dither it in process, so i figured better to go high incase any apps accept 24bit, and not dither incase they knock it down....am i all backwards with it? Lol
ОтветитьSo happy to find someone breaking this down so clearly.
ОтветитьI'm opting for Flac.
Dither before sending to Distrokid or would they do as much to your lossless file?
Pense que era el tipo de New Radicals, excelente video !!!
ОтветитьIf your lufs are louder than -14 then -2db headroom.
ОтветитьGreat vid! Thank you so much!!
ОтветитьI always produced in 44.1 Khz. Do you think music platforms may stop accepting 44.1 Khz in near future? Or we don't have to worry about it? They're always requesting higher standards for artwork pictures and all
ОтветитьI am changing distributors right now and it really sucks...my old album was in 24 bit, but the new distributor only accepts 16... uuuurgh
now after watching your video I actually know that this is a good thing ;)
🐐
ОтветитьI struggle to get clear vocals. There is a small hint of a hiss-iness😊 after export. I do not know if it is too much compression or saturation. I work in 48KHZ 32bit. Export a quick reference as mp3 48khz. Can it be my export settings or the way I mix my vocals? When I listen during mixing phase it sounds great, only when export and listen back especially via mobile phone it is a bit too much hiss. Not sibilance. A hissiness kinds of soft gentle scratchy ness too the vocals that its not there when I mix or completed the mix.
ОтветитьDude you’re incredible! I’ve looked at so many other videos of people who just go overboard on the settings.
I’ve seen them export their final songs in 32 Bit Float 🤦🏻
Respect 👌🏻
ОтветитьWhat does Dither mean please also?
