in 1947 Indian was divided on basis of religious density. Places with high Muslim concentration went to Pakistan and with high Hindu population came to India. Not a single area of Punjab which came to India had majority Sikh population. Even in present day Punjab Sikh population only rose due to Sikh migrants from Pakistan. All majority Sikh population region like Rawalpindi, Lahore, Gujearawala.....went to Pakistan.
