Zahra's Bio:
Zahra Amiri is a PhD student and Graduate Research Assistant in the Department of Environmental Sciences at the University of California, Riverside (UCR). She received her Bachelor of Science in Water Engineering in 2014 and Master of Science in Irrigation and Drainage Engineering from Isfahan University of Technology in 2017. Before joining UCR, she was a Natural Resource Management (NRM) specialist at the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock in Kabul, Afghanistan. She has done work on providing technical inputs to the NRM policies and strategies, analyzing the existing practices, and identifying the capacity gaps in implementation of existing policies and strategies. Her current research is focused on the impacts of irrigation managements on water use efficiency and crop production in Southern California agriculture.
