Actually! Ferrari is owned by Fiat. And Lamborghini is owned by Audi! which happens to be owned by Volkswagen!??? Crazy business! right.
Thanks.
I’d argue more like 10 years, even then saying every car is harsh
ОтветитьExcellent video, thank you
ОтветитьAtrocious money pit cars made with plastic parts. I owned a very clean 09 E60 for about 7 years. I tried my best to take meticulous care of it but towards the tail end it ended up leaving me stranded three times: failed starter, failed alternator, then broken engine coolant pump overheating the engine. Had to get the car towed each time and thankfully I had a solid indy trusted mechanic. Spent thousands of dollars, experienced a lot of stress and anxiety, and I finally got rid of it recently. The car put me in debt and im still paying the price for it. Not worth it, no thank you. You either have to have spare money and time to own one. If not, good luck.
ОтветитьMy all time favourite BMW is the 2002❤❤
ОтветитьThe E12 is a beautiful modern classic these days.
ОтветитьI had a couple of E28s back in the day. I liked the 'little six' engine and the old fashioned look of them.
The first was a 528 automatic that handled like a Marina with bald tyres. It was worse in the wet.
The second was a 520 manual that went like a Marina 1.3 towing a really heavy caravan. And it broke down very reliably between 12-15 miles away from home. Every time.
*I had a Marina 1700HL once. It was fine. I didn't drive it much. It never broke down.
owned e30 and e38..
greetings from Indonesia 🎉
Making video about bmw history without even mentioning e39 is useless to watch in educational videos…
Also e39 was ahead of it’s time following by bigger brother e38 :)
what about Bf109 engines :D
ОтветитьI've had four of them (all bought used, because I'm poor), the newest being a 2001 3-series wagon that I picked up in 2013. Two 3-series, a 5 and a 7. The 1990 3-series 4-door that I paid $1000.00 for was probably my favorite. I drove the hell out of that car until it finally said, "nicht".
ОтветитьI only have a one brand car in my life, bmw ❤
ОтветитьBest regards from the Porsche scene. The company likes to connect the brand with VW and Audi, which referring to 911 or 718 driveability is far from truth. More than 50% 0f Porsche sport car drivers come from BMW or have been using them as family cars. I drove 3 and later 5 series for almost 35 years. Wanted to slso experience brands like Mercedes and Audi, but they by far were no match for the BMW in driveability. So no wonder to me that when you are ready to reduce the comfort and wishing to go into more radical sport car driving the next door of BMW is Porsche. Still love the BMW. There is no substitute for BMW and Porsche. ❤
Ответитьjust arrived from garage working on my 1993 740i, with adaptive suspension indeed 😁Thanks for the video.
Ответитьa truly great company that makes the best and worst cars, somehow all at the same time
Ответить1st and 2nd gen 1 series was a very nice looking car. And nice drive IMO.
ОтветитьOf the 453 M1s built, one of them was in the BMW dealership showroom in Bitburg, Germany. I had a very close look at it and I remember thinking it was so futuristic. I was shopping for a small car and ended up with a used 1983 316 1.8L. I think I paid DM3,500. It had been slightly modified by the previous owner. It sat slightly lower, had a BMW racing visor across the top of the windscreen, a wooden stick shift with BMW logo instead of manual gear tree. It was a very nice car which I grew to love. I immediately took it on to the autobahn, which was nearer to Trier, if I remember correctly. Once on the autobahn, I was promptly passed by just about everything. That 1.8 was nice, but there were so many much faster cars.
ОтветитьHe lost me from the very beginning when he said "Dependable cars that keep getting better"
Ответить...and in 2024... self imploding plastic monstrosities xDDDD LMFAO
ОтветитьRange Rover still uses bmw engines
ОтветитьBMW ?? dependable ?? in which planet ? earth ?? 🤣
ОтветитьThese days, the only thing they excel at is making highly questionable design choices.
ОтветитьThe todays design is made to meet the chinese taste.
ОтветитьI used to think when I finally started making a decent salary I'd get a 3 series, hopefully an M. But sadly, IMO BMW like many other companies have started listening to the damn MBAs instead of the engineers. They now seem to make expensive crap that just keeps getting uglier.
ОтветитьI HATE BMW, same with any of those other companies like VW, nothing more than hitlers cronies, anyone in the US owning that german crap is a traitor and very un patriotic.
ОтветитьBMW all day every day
Just my brand ❤️
Every time I watch a doc on German car companies that were around in the early 20th century. I'm always thinking 'the Nazis are gunna show up any minute now' 😅
ОтветитьI was waiting for “the best car bmw has made, is the E46 3 series coupe. The ultimate driving machine…” 😭
ОтветитьI think the BMW grills are breathing- literally.
100 years ago they were large because they were inhaling
50 years ago they became very small because they were exhaling
And now they're inhaling again.
In the next 50 years they will be small again.
I am personally aware of 3 x3s that have had up to $4k invested into making them pass emissions. All of them still live at the mechanic shop. I am glad I decided years ago not to work on them.
ОтветитьNOTHING Succeeds Like EXCESS.
ОтветитьThank you All Car. That was truly a comprehensive, & ENTERTAINING connect the historical dots story of BMW Evolution.
ОтветитьI DON'T KNOW WHICH IS MORE MAGICAL, Creating the Executive or Luxury Class, SMALL Performance Sedan with upward extending tiers [OR] So many flavors of Ice Cream (at reduced cost, higher margin) for a larger customer base. WHICH IS THE BIGGER REDIRECT & SLIGHT OF HAND ???
ОтветитьNot sure if it’s been suggested already, but a BMW i3 story would be really interesting. The carbon fibre chassis and generally really forward design / manufacturing processes. Please & thank you… 🙏🏼
ОтветитьI hate every single car they make these days, but I love BMW for their golden age in the 80s and 90s. I'm a very happy owner of a 1995 E34 518i. They have really come a long way to cars as good as good as that and I hope they would finally try to look back at their heritage and make something exciting and half-affordable...
ОтветитьNo mention the E39..??? WTF..moron
ОтветитьThese good histories are really eulogies. It’s the end of the car.
ОтветитьBMW obtaining FWD mini was as important as them getting Land Rover's 4X4 tech. BMW will never put their marque on a FWD car: Mini is their FWD brand. Ford did the same with Land Rover tech as BMW did, incorporating Land Rover's excellence. Rover is the carcass which kept on giving. The i3 is almost as ugly as the Multipla and I get the distinct impression BMW designed it wilfully so to ensure EV and EREV never cramped their ICE profit makers. Great insight into Beema, thanks Big Car.
ОтветитьDependable cars? That could be a stretch. If you can maintain the car yourself, DIY, or have the funds to start around 1k for each visit to your mechanic shop and not a dealer, sure, you could call BMWs a "dependable car." Don't get me wrong; I LOVE BMWs because they are some of the best-built cars out there, and they live up to their quote, "Freude am Fahren."
ОтветитьYou forgot to mention that the biggest shareholders of BMW is rhe Quandt family. After the war they took Mamas maiden name because daddy was Goebbels, yes that Goebbels.
ОтветитьMy wife was loyal to BMW for years. Started off with a 318ti Compact Sport. Progressed through via a 4.8is X5 to a E92 M3 convertible - but they lost their way for a while with the M Sport looking almost the same as the SE.
So she defected to Mercedes who did the much sportier looking AMG Line. Not had a BMW for over 10 years now.
Imagine how sad, boring and ugly the world would be if BMW didn't exist 🖤🤍💙 !
ОтветитьI’m a huge bmw fan ! Unfortunately nothing but junk anymore their golden years were the 90s cars anything past 2010 is straight junk I work on them
ОтветитьReliability! You cannot give away a used BMW. Where I live there are many many BMW sitting in long grass just roasting away 😂
ОтветитьThanks alot
ОтветитьThe Russians were Allies
ОтветитьIt’s Germany’s Buick.
