I'm just here for any snide comments Andy may have about Rick Wakeman.

Gregg also a friend of Andy's been to Swindon and made Andy a custom amp. Question... ATMOS what's your thoughts? I design high end audio... well really anything that plays music. Digital, Analog, Tubes are better so forth. Anyway, so I understand Apple's usage with Airpods because they needed something and since ATMOS is old the DSP required to reproduce this. BUT!!! What about the rest of us that have 2 speakers and none of the processing of ATMOS then what do we get from it?

Thanks for presenting this. Anytime Andy is interviewed, I hang on his every word. He’s not just a National Treasure in his native Great Britain, he’s a planetary treasure. Thanks again 🙏

I can listen to Andy go on about anything, I was anticipating this art book compilation and I’ll have to get myself one. Another great interview Greg. Thanks to you and Andy for this.

When Andy describes not wanting to kill the magic of a favourite song, like 'Strawberry Fields", by dismembering it into it's component parts completely resonates with me.

The thing i take away from this excellent interview is how Andy has a very special angle on how he looks at art.I Think that's one of the most important things that makes his paintings and music so exceptional and amazing. Thanks again for another insightful and intelligent conversation Gregg.

‘The Big Express’ wasn’t good enough to merit such precious reissue treatment (nor lip service), and the synesthesia stuff strikes me as obtuse, irrelevant, and more than a bit pretentious… I thought ‘25 O’clock ‘ would be given its due in this encore Partridge entry. All that said, I do appreciate your posting this interview.

David Lord was recently prosecuted for running a brother from his home in Bath.

I really don’t dig the whole Steven Wilson rewriting improvement committee industry.
I want artist intentions at the time of creation. I don’t get it.

If Partridge ever allowed Rundgren to produce another album it would be like Herman Munster producing Dr. Evil. Mentioning AUTUMN ALMANAC brought a smile and a lump in the throat.

I've been recording and releasing music for over 30 years and XTC remain a big influence , thanks Andy . Funny working on a song now that so reminds me of your vocal melodies , wasn't intentional it just come out.,

Overall, love Steven Wilson's 5.1 mix of The Big Express with one big exception. The electric guitar in "I Remember the Sun" is pushed to the rear channels, losing much of its power. Likely have preferred an alternating front channel assault.

Apple Venus is criminally underrated. A pop masterpiece, right up with Skylarking.

So fascinated to listen to my ex next door neighbour talk of the housing estate we both grew up on, although Andy must be about 8 years older than I, and as he was already starting to get a name for himself with the Helium Kids, it was only ever on the rare occasion that he'd speak to me. One of those occasions, was me sitting on the door step during the summer holidays, rather bored, and Andy appearing with a magnifying glass where he promptly taught me how to pop ants. I doubt he'd remember that but I do. I was in awe as a kid , from listening to him practice through the wall of our adjoining bedrooms, buying Black Sea as the band went from strength to strength while I was serving in the Military to the present day, serving as a teacher of English, Drama and sometimes - art and music. Andy is an inspiration.

great interview, Greg. Loved XTC since Dave Gregory joined the band. So many great records, but for me gorgeous Nonsuch one of the best albums ever made

I dare you to close your eyes and listen to any song from Skylarking (except Dear God, great song but sticks out like a sore thumb on this album) and tell me this man doesn't paint with music.
