@Rob - I think ChatGPT can summarize your gmail. I tried it, and it works. You just need to enable this option when you first connect ChatGPT to your Gmail. When the OAuth pop-up appears, make sure to allow ChatGPT to read your emails. After that, it should be able to summarize them, like the Claude AI app.

Claude's pro plan is miserable and almost useless
Two messages and boom, come back in 5 months, you have reached your usage limits.
All these good stuff are practically unusable with the available credits they give for the pro plan

Not so "crazy" coming towards the end there. We get it, clickbait to survive, but ughh.. 😮‍💨

Given the advice not to enter any personal information into AI models I would worry about connecting say Google Drive. How secure would that data be if for example ChatGpt had a major data breach?

nice video! question: couldn't we also do these more specific tasks like summarize my last 5 emails if we use a custom connector /MCP server integration e.g. with Zappier as you showed in Claude and then have access to these more granular tools like "find email"? The out of the box connector in claude specifically for gmail is obviously better. Only being available as part of deep research in ChatGPT is a miss, but probably related to cost management on OpenAI side as deep research queries are limited for free users.

I just connected ChatGPT to my Google calendar, and for some reason, ChatGPT was unable to access my calendar at all. It said that it could not.

Was it Claude/Anthropic or OpenAi that used an email from one of the engineers who wanted to shut it down, as blackmail material when it discovered the engineer was having an affair?

I agree with you on the ChatGPT linking this to DeepReseach. I think it's just a way to limit our use or make us go to a more expensive plan. I believe OpenAI has processing issues each time they add a new feature and their looking for ways to throttle use through limits or expense.

You didn’t allow ChatGpt permission to read your emails. It was an option in the upper right corner of allowing the access settings.

Looks cool but I'd like to know more about the privacy guardrails because obviously there could be very sensitive info in somebody's emails for example

I just tried the Gmail connector and the verdict is: Trash! It took several minutes to get a summary of the last 10 emails and also several minutes just to get the time and date of the last 5 emails. The times were not even totally correct...!
