Hunting Grounds: Atsee & Leoah
The afternoon leans to evening in Snake Gully as the sun's rays begin to disappear behind the large cliffs that surround the area. Leoah, Atsee, and another familiar black Utahraptor spend the available sunlight in search of food before the cold night winds usher them into their cave home to sleep. Food always helps keep them warm and Leoah's size being much smaller than the two has difficulty retaining heat. The once quiet moments besides whisping winds and songs of insects sparing their tales becomes broken as bellows of a bull Nasutoceratops announces it's presence. Nasus are the pack's favorite meal and always make quick work of them when caught alone. Do to Leoah's feathers haveing yet to develop their adult colors, the likelyhood she's picked out as a target is increased especially for a bull Nasu. The effort to target a specific Utah in a pack with matching coats as it's packmates can confuse attackers into letting an injured packmate escape. It's imperative to have coat feathers like Atsee's and the other packmate as their packs had done for summers long and succeeded in many hunts because of it. Against this decision Leoah bounds into battle even if becomming berrated by claw or horn to aid in claiming the ceratopsian as a meal along side thm before the night claims them.
