cool
ОтветитьIt looks like it was intentionally sunk as an artificial reef. It appeared to have openings left for scuba divers to enter into. I would like to know where this was filmed.
Ответитьis that a old moran tug?
ОтветитьLooks like one of the 1920s Tugs used as a basis for the children's show "TUGS"
Ответитьew! I think its very creepy
ОтветитьSomething heart warming to watch it go down though, with the knowledge she is clean and to sustain & create life, nice….. I am sure the old boat is happy, better than being razor blades she thinks….. LOL. Thom in Scotland.
Ответитьwhats wrong with recycling the metal?
ОтветитьNOOOO!!!!! I would have made it into my own lake cruiser.
Ответитьthats mad!
Ответитьhe desserved to be in a muséum
ОтветитьWhy the Fuck did they celebrate
ОтветитьIt is now a reef! That is what I did with mine. 80' and 140 tons of steel should start a nice place. I can always go back and visit her too. Hope you will do the same?
ОтветитьYou sunk a Morran Tug!
Ответитьif the boat was no good, why not scrap it?
ОтветитьRest in peace, dear, nobody more will you disturb! ;o)
Ответить@Slashking996 Now its a reef.
ОтветитьDid it hit the ground at 0:23
Ответить@tahoeskiier Yes. It hit bottom for sure.
Ответитьthat was my boat ='{
Ответить@FutureDJHero yeah, not so huffy or chuffy now are you? lol
Ответить@tahoeskiier It appeared to huh?
Ответить240p? Was this camera salvaged from the sunken ship?
ОтветитьCOOL!!!!
Ответитьhow old was the thing ad how far were u from it
Ответить@XxgtatbogtkingxX Probably sank to create a reef.
ОтветитьThey just sank a classic... I have nothing against artificial reefs but THIS is hard for me to watch, it just seemed heartless with all the cheering at the end...
ОтветитьPOLLUTION
Ответитьanyone get here from general fiasco
ОтветитьLooks like the stern hit the bottom before the bow went under!? Too shallow? You'll need to put a navigtion beacon over it so that other boat dont keep running into the wheelhouse and funell. What a waste!
ОтветитьWhat a waste of a beautiful tug boat, can't believe they were cheering at the end as well
ОтветитьThe ignorant comments below most all tug-related videos absolutely blows my mind. For THIS video, this comment takes the prize... please tell me you're joking? Yes the stern hit & then she laid down perfectly. RR tugs are TALL but notice she's stripped right to wheelhouse roof level? They meet EXACT CONTRACT SPEC when deployed as reef material. Most A.R.'s are only in 80-120' of water, accessible to divers of all experience levels. Still, PLENTY of water over them for most anything. Do the math.
Ответить2)...cleaned spotless inside/out, then inspected by USCG & DNR prior to placement. There's NO pollution, only valuable "housing" (shelter) on an otherwise vast relatively flat boring ocean floor, for 1000's of fish (in 1 tug alone!). After only 1 year down, there is SO MUCH marine life in/around them that it's often hard to even I/D what tug it was! Artificial Reefs play important rolls in marine habitat and sport diving. Below, a diver said he found "a roll of quarters" when diving a reefed...
Ответить3)...tug - Congrats, that's great! Awhile back I began hiding 5 or 6 unique little treasures on each vessel we sink. The quarter's weren't us, but that's a perfect example! Divers enjoy these reefs & i appreciative their hobby. Now, re: "SCRAP" ...for the same reasons above, reefing is a better alternative to scrapping. Even when scrap is high, there's SO MUCH "non-metals" (costly to dispose of), it's time-consuming, locations suitable for ship-breaking are hard to find, liability is greatly...
Ответить4)...increased (as is equipment, fuel, labor & labor costs!), it's messy work & frankly most land/dock-owners do NOT want ship-breaking operations on their property. Scrapping big ships or dozens of barges at once...YES, profitable...but the prepared P&S yield from a tug or 2 isn't worth it. Next, all these "SAVE THE WHALES!" (Tugs) type comments...geez...I'll simply quote the legendary Don Sutherland..."Anyone who knows enough to restore an old tugboat, knows enough NOT to do it!" I would...
Ответить5)...think any tug-lover / preservationist would MUCH rather see 'em reefed than scrapped. I certainly do (as both tug-lover AND scrap guy)! Lastly, for all of you "I would have turned her into my cruiser / party-boat / chick-magnet super-yacht / anti-gravitic space-tug..." & every other insane idea I've read... I hope you have FAR more money than brains! Some advice when buying an old tugboat...even FREE is almost always TOO MUCH to pay! TRUST ME, I KNOW...loving "historic boats" more than...
Ответить6)...money, was a big factor in my going under in '09 & starting over HASN'T been easy! I pissed away well over $1,000,000 "for the cause" (preservation contributions). It's the "end of an era" for a)Single-Screw, Electric & Bell-Boat tugs, b)Steam Lakers & c)1st-Gen.Locomotives. Sad YES, but remember...all ya gotta do for life to suck is wake up each day. Be thankful U can WITNESS them rather than sayin "Man I wish I were alive back then!" Sorry for the long rant, ignorance just boils my blood.
ОтветитьWell i suppose if the hull is say 90ft long, hit the bottom showing say 85ft depth?, less guestimate height from keel [on the sea floor] to w'house roof of say max. 20ft. then there'd be 65ft of free water clearance over top? Jolly Good.
ОтветитьWhat caused it to sink?
ОтветитьIt was probably trying to tug something, which was way to heavy for the little boat, then its own power sucked itself under water. If he'd turn of his engine he'd stayed afloat.
ОтветитьBest sinking footage i've ever saw.and the fastest to!
ОтветитьWell that was fast
ОтветитьAlmost as fast as the Titanic.
ОтветитьTugs sink quick look up more and you will see.. I have worked on them for years and they say to always be ready..
ОтветитьNOOO! TUGGER!!!
Ответитьwhy
Ответитьlooks a z stack just sunk
ОтветитьTugboat sinking
