The Throne of Odin: A Modern Interpretation

I believe in pursuit or wisdom we must be able to sacrifice ourselves unto ourselves as odin did on the great ash tree. Sacrifice was a such a focal point in norse culture. And like you have said in past videos i dont think sacrifices of animals was so much the best example. In the culture it was kind of important to show masculine traits. Such as being willing to fight for honor. Any dishonor was to be challenged. But back to my point, if we are not willing to sacrifice, time or put down a game or going out drinking with our friends in Pursuit of a goal, we cannot be expected to gain anything. I think the sacrifice of odin was a huge relatable story that could be elaborated on when comparing to our modern society. Wisdom cannot be gained without sacrifice. And wisdom is of itself wordly knowledge gained from experience. A person who reads is smart but not necessarily wise.

This is how you know it is true; because you can use it that way, it is a pattern of truth.
But, what they mean by "see", doesn't stop there because Odin is a god. They mean as a seer or judge not just an analysts. The satellites the military has is more like it.

When the whole Covid thing started to blow up, I purposefully blocked myself off from looking at the news and focused on my own spiritual and emotional growth, on tending my vegetable garden, on being out in nature. Reading articles was giving me anxiety. Even having to go to the store and feeling everyone else's fear was exhausting! You are right, I think, we are not meant to know all the happenings of the world.

I have actually been disconnecting from social media in certian ways and staying off my phone more for the last year. It has significantly helped me to start heal myself and focus more on my family. I truly believe there is some truth to what you are saying and I share a similar opinion. I would love to see more videos like this as I am newly learning the pagan ways. Thank you for your channel!

Well said! I enjoyed this interpretation and it does make a lot of sense. I completely agree that we as a society have given up much due to this little device which I type this message upon. There are people addicted to their phones but at what cost; losing touch with their family, losing the ability to truly communicate through speech, and losing precious time out of their lives. I do believe these devices are a form of madness for many people.

it is an idea I had not considered as such but it does make perfect sense. For me I had always equated the throne of Odin to the Akashic records in other mystical/spiritual traditions, and I had even equated the internet to a modern, technological representation of that idea but until this video I had never made that final connection to the idea that the throne of Odin could be represented in the modern day by the Internet, but it does make so much sense.

Could the throne be connected to some sort of ancient oracle practice? Perhaps it had fumes rising from it. Or was sitting on the throne a role that had certain duties associated with it that included entertaining important persons from far and wide? - I love that song

I always have doubt about the ask & embla story.. Sadly, I think there might be some Christian influence in there..

The one thing we as Heathens need to remember and consciously acknowledge, is “Odin” is not his name. “Wotan” is his name, and he is not the the “All-father” he is the “Valfather” or “Valfadr.” The “Father of the Slain.” Among many other names he is known by of course, like Grimnir, Gray beard, etc.

Acknowledging this will allow you to truly better understand who Wotan is. And I would advise on stepping away from the Prose Edda, it is good for cross collaboration. But when we are trying to venerate through our ancestors as Heathens should be doing, considering that is the entire encompassing factor and choice path we make and take that makes us Heathens, the Poetic Edda will give you a better root to take information from. It’s context is obviously much older than Snorri’s rendering, and prevents Abrahamic contamination that the Prose Edda obviously inflicts too many times.

I agree... And I don't mean to be pessimistic about it, but we as humans have corrupted that relic. Why? The free posting of false information for all to see. So we may think we are reading an informational article of immense power... But there's always that possibility of human corruption. Did the writer try to sway us to a different view? Did the author completely lie to us just for fun? Did the writer create this as a work of fiction but decided to release it without saying so? Something else to ponder on I guess.
