i've refused to watch schindler's list ever since it came up on my radar, although its occupied a prominent position on my watchlist for the past few years. i don't think i can do the film justice with my current knowledge of the holocaust, and have vowed to educate myself on the matter before i dive in so i can truly appreciate it. but in the meantime, i have listened to the score for the film COUNTLESS times, and it always manages to bring me to tears. it's unbearably moving, even with my existing limited knowledge of the Holocaust, associating the music to that tragic time.
I've almost come to the end of my undergraduate in history and economics, and schindler's list is one of the first films i plan to see by the end of the semester.
I've always held that John Williams is the most important man in the history of modern cinema (60s-70s onwards), given how his scores act as a tertiary character in his films in the way other composers cannot capture to the same extent. i know my adoration for the man will multiply 100 fold after watching this classic.
sorry for the ramble, but thanks for the time x
I love the Maestro, but if I got a dollar every time he told this story about Schindler's List, I would be a millionaire by now. Yo-Yo Ma has heard it dozens of times as well, that's why he finishes Mr. Williams' sentence.
ОтветитьThis song makes me cry
ОтветитьJohn Williams is 90 years old, his mind is still sharp
ОтветитьBeautiful
ОтветитьMasterpiece! Masterpiece, right here!
ОтветитьIts a beautiful piece of music!
ОтветитьThe overwrought shallot distinctively grin because clerk broadly admire along a high-pitched pharmacist. four frail, uninterested consonant
ОтветитьYo-Yo Ma and John Williams make a perfect team for beautiful music! I was so moved by the song of Schindler’s List when I first heard it. Just like Yo-Yo Ma said, it left me with a feeling that I could not escape. So powerful and yet so beautiful.
ОтветитьI have avidly collected film music quite literally for decades, first on LP, then on CD; The music to Schindler's List was available before the movie premiered locally. I was struck by how symphonic the score was, and by the underlying sense of melancoly. Experiencing it in a theatre with the visuals was an extremely emotional experience. I wept then and weep now, listening to it again. Such wondrous music.
ОтветитьPor que no promueven este tipo de contenido.
Lo que datua por saber más sobre la música clasica.
En fin la vida sigue a la corriente

ОтветитьI don't know why ... but this video needs more attention - humanity ...
ОтветитьJohn, GOD give you A Gift for All Humanity. I'm really sure about that.
ОтветитьSo deeply touching.
ОтветитьTwo great masters
ОтветитьAs lendas evelhence tbm
ОтветитьBoth are great musicians 💜💛💛💜
ОтветитьSame here… the Berlin and the Prague Jewish areas brought me this emotion of sorrow.
Ответитьthere is NO better composer than John Williams
ОтветитьLibere a tradução o que o mundo ouça.
ОтветитьMr. Williams is a month short of 91, and he stands at the very pinnacle of his field!
Mr. Williams, I wish I could share with you all that I would like of your compositionship. First, motion picture scores in the classical style is my favourite form of recreation; it is that to which I listen for my personal enjoyment.
I wish I could have participated, and ideally, contributed. I have no aptitude with musical instruments.
However, I have an extraordinarily wide vocal range that a friend I had known whilst at university, a piano performance major of considerable ability, told me enables me to sing from the fifth ledger line below the bass clef to the D above high C (and once an A)!
Unfortunately, I lack the means to train and to develop them into marketable skills that could earn me a worthy income.
I liked listening to this exchange by two giants in music.
ОтветитьGrazie, grazie ,dieci cento ,mille volte grazie a Dio per averci dato in dono il talento infinito di questo grande compositore Grazie a John Williams per le infinite emozioni .
ОтветитьThat theme never leaves me. I love that soundtrack. Whoever will listen, I always point out Maestro Williams was doing Jurassic Park at the same time. That separation of feel, the ability to shift gears, if you will, is inexplicable. Truly amazing. And the writing for English Horn, superb.
ОтветитьI had the absolute pleasure of getting to see the Maestro conduct the Pittsburgh Symphony in his "Music of the Movies." He told a story about being invited to compose Schindler's List by Steven Spielberg. John said that he went to Steven's house to screen the movie and when he was done, he said, "Steven, I'm not good enough for this." Steven replied, "I know, but everyone else is dead!"
The auditorium erupted in laughter.
He is a once in a generation master.
The Schindler's list theme is a masterpiece in every sense of the word.
ОтветитьIt’s a master piece 🙏🏽👍🏽
ОтветитьI went to John Williams 90th bday celebration live at Tanglewood. Itzhak Pearlman was there live, and he did Schindlers list theme, it was incredible.
Ответитьive never heard a cello sound so clean and light, it almost sounds like a viola
ОтветитьIn that one piece, John Williams and Itzhak Perlman gave a voice to six million voices that were silenced.
ОтветитьMusic - - a universal language.
A Chinese man movingly plays “Schindler’s List,” a composition to honor the Jews killed in the holocaust.
The theme of schindlers list contains and presents the deepest sadness and brings me to a flood of tears
ОтветитьTalk about two brilliant masters, their minds and hearts working together...
ОтветитьAnyone else just hear the clip and shed tears??? I can’t help but be moved by this piece. Every time… truly a masterpiece
ОтветитьSo very sadly, there will always be profound tragedy, however there must be sounds that go with these stories, sounds so unforgettable that we will feel something palpable...These are those sounds...Thank you, John Williams and Yo-yo Ma.
ОтветитьVery sad. Deeply so.
ОтветитьPathetic.
ОтветитьMr Ma is my hero but its a violin piece, always will be, The higher register is the pain of 6 million souls.
ОтветитьSome of the worlds most elevated minds right here.
ОтветитьSo...that really happened. I thought it was just a rumour about that story with better composer.
Ответить2 masters of their craft. stunning.
ОтветитьWell I just impulsively bought tickets to see Williams live. I can’t fucking wait
ОтветитьIt’s a beautiful and inspiring piece. I’m moved to keep studying cello no matter how hard to play this version. It has a lightness and warmth in the higher octaves that YoYo Ma gives it that will make it worth the long journey. Thanks, this will get me out of grief. 🌈❤
ОтветитьGod (in whatever you're beliving in) touches us from time to time and such masterpieces are born.
ОтветитьHe’s a literal genius. Proud to live at the same time as this man who has taken history and characters and put them into music
ОтветитьAbsolutely stunning arrangement on the cello…….
ОтветитьI enjoy John Williams’ guitar solos and had nearly all of his guitar albums over a decade ago. He is incredibly talented and truly one in a million.
ОтветитьSimply haunts your soul through your heart. It plays on a loop in mine when I’m quiet.
ОтветитьJust a couple of genius.....
