Odin was the toughest summon for me.. I just figured it out myself in the end and spammed debuffs, he went down eventually. I like a good challenge tho :P

my thought is still need to master the perfect block timing to beat this Odin, and not everyone really can mastery this block...I'm unsure this Odin can be defeated on another way...

I noticed the handcuffs but I had no idea it was a debuff and never thought to connect it with Reprisal

Had no idea about how the greater / lesser status resists worked until now. I always thought it just made it harder to apply it, not limit the amount of times you can apply it. Thanks for the information.

Damnnnnnit, I used your video, and I actually managed to get a good chunk of health (20%) out of him with Yuffie, Cloud and Aerith, but then just as I used bio / ward /doppelganger, he still used cuntuketsen.... I was opening a can of whoopass and he still ended up 1-shotting me 🥵

A bit late to the party, but for some reason, Plasma Discharge (Enemy Skill Materia) helped a lot, and even bypassed the cuffs

I went through a couple of videos, and this is the most interesting. When all I did was use a party of three as soon as Odin spots me the player. What I mean is when the a.i. notices the character you're playing as. I would switch to a character farther away and come back attacking or use a character with projectiles using ATB attacks, buffs, and defuffs to raise my synergy pips and as soon soon as Odin feels pressured and hit him with everything that'll stagger him. Finally, unleashing whatever i have built up. Then repeat the process again in the second and third sections of the fight, and make sure I know when to back off when a red titled attack would start initiating, especially during the later part of the fight.

I was going to give up, seriously. Ain’t nobody got time to keep dying in one hit, but thanks to this video, I beat him in my first try. 👍

My main problem with the fight is it’s all centered around not getting hit, but they made his attacks extremely hard to dodge

this is the only guide ive seen that explains his counter mechanic; which is arguably the hardest part of dealing with him (timing the parries become easy enough with perfect defense materia)

After 3000 times of trying this, I figured out the best party that worked for me is : Cloud, Aerith, and Red XIII.

Although Odin has a great resistance with element meterias like the author said, high level element meterias like figa/firaga and Thungara/Thuntaga can do some damage and slow him down.

I found out that as long as you're able to not get hit by Odin's attacks, his "entertain bar" won't go low, and he will even get pressured by not hitting you. Red can evade attacks quicker with long-pressing the basic attack button (Square on PS5) to spin away from Odin's attacks, and he runs/parry faster too. His abilities also do good damages to Odin in order to keep him entertained.

Aerith with Radiant Wand helps a ton with this battle. Her lil bubbles from basic attacks turned into laser beams, which is a very good distanced attack source when Odin is doing his attacks. I also geared her up with the Revival materia so she can revival your other characters since you cannot use items in this fight.

I just used Yuffie. Doppleganger, Throw, then just spam attack and Blindside.
