Curious what outboard gear do you use you, if any, when tracking in vox? Because not many folks who watching and learning are starting out with a quality that your raw vocal seemed to have… Fantastic video by the way. Not enough people doing real deal legit detailed work/teaching like this.

I asked about your hardware that your mic running thru bc, even when I was in a legit studio with $50K worth of outboard gear, I always use pre compression EQ on main vox, to tame some harsh frequencies before they are fed into and therefor get focused on more by the compressor, thennnn go with my post compression eq for boosting some of the meat that compressor took out. This was on TOP of the moog eq, shadow hills compressor, de-esser, and distressor that we had set up with my patch-bay…

Man that 2a has way to much gain reduction going on lol i know its not the best for most rap vocals anyways, more for smother melodic vocals but anything with that much compression in the box is not going to sound very good lol. Anyways this a good tutorial, i love watching dude learn lol
