What do you think of the price increases and do you find Premier to be a good value? Please let us know in a comment.

I find that Princess Premier is a good fit for me. I can eat at Specialty restaurants every night if I like and I can set my dining time ahead of the cruise. I love the WiFi and it works well. I don’t have to work at changing my devices from tablet to phone and back. I have at least 1-2 specialty coffees every day. It is definitely worth not worrying what I’m spending onboard.

I do the premier if I’m sailing on the Sun Princess and now the upcoming star Princess, why? They offer the most specialty dining. Any other ship I would do the Plus package. The other ships are more limited in the specialty dining.

If you pre-purchase Premier, you have better ability to book specialty dining, and you aren’t limited to just 2. Booking more, especially on some of the Royal Class where they have 3 different specialty restaurants, and you just eat at those 3 once for a 7 day cruise adds to savings (you can go more than that too, if you want). Plus, don’t forget bottled water in both packages. People should take at least one per person per port (as you can take off ship to use in port). Also, one could take a bottle each, at least, each night so you have it to drink if you need to at night or in the morning. So, I think you may be underestimating the possible usage (and value) with packages. I also always pre-book a package, often Premier. It remains the same price and same value to me whether I select Premier or Plus.

We also went to crown grill on Regal on march 3 sailing. It wasnt terrible, but definitely not what we expected and not worth it. MDR was much better. Everything else on trip was great.

We always get princess plus pkg. So worth it, and I'm not a big drinker. At end of each day on last cruise, i even added up my drinks for day. With only 2 alcohol drinks, plus non alcohol drinks, still would have been way over price we paid (when you subtract gratuities) And it allowed me to try new drinks. We have had great experiences in MDR and really enjoy going. The premier pkg wouldn't be worth it for us. Any word on Princess staying in Galveston after Nov 2026? Strange thing is, they havent yet listed Majestic anywhere during the time it was supposed to be in Galveston. Thanks for info! Love your videos!

They can charge as much as they like because I have "moved on". Cruising is not (IMHO) a bargain anymore. They ALL seem to be in a contest to see who can raise prices on everything the fastest. Carnival is more expensive than Princess now out of Galveston. Time to go check out Yellowstone and grand Canyon!! BTW, we cruised Regal Princess out of Galveston March 3rd and ate at the Crown Grill and it was awful. We didn't get to eat in any of the dining rooms because we had no reservations for 6PM. Evidently you need to make THOSE reservations 6 months early!! PS: I can't figure out how to give "A CruisingGoodTime" a "thumbs up" while giving Princess a "Thumbs Down"!!

We did the math and the premier is a great value for us. I love the convenience of just getting on board and enjoying my trip and not waiting to see the final tab shock.

Thank you for the great review and analysis. We always sail with Princess Premier. It is no-brainer for us! And, we always book the option pre-cruise when we book our cruise. Cheers!

Hey, you guys I am hoping you can help me to determine if I am able to work with the available Internet speeds on the discovery Princess. By any chance, are you familiar with the current Internet speeds on the discovery? Do you think I can do a teams call and share my screen for about an hour?
