I’ve listened to almost every addiction story on yt under the sun, and this hands-down has to be one of my favorites and most touching I’ve ever heard. Such a similar story to this girl. Thank you for having her on and thank you Alyx for sharing. So glad you made it on the other side.

She is the absolute twin of someone, appearance-wise, with whom I used to work. This woman, Debbie, would be about 20 years older than Alyx now, but they are truly physical clones of each other.

It's amazing how most addicts start with smoking cigarettes then drinking and then smoking weed. As for me i started sniffing coke on weekends when me and my friends would go out clubbing or bars to level off from the drinking just to keep you going. i soon discovered valium which I loved. I didn't do heroin till i was 25. And i fell in love with that drug. Once I started doing heroin that was it for all the other drugs i didn't want to do anything but heroin. I remember hearing in the rooms on the one of many times I tried to get clean that it was a love affair and it had to run its course. And i didn't realize how true that would be until my love affair with heroin was over.

Getting clean off heroin, is hard man ,not going to lie,but the end reward is so freaking great ,it’s hard to describe how wonderful it is to be alive .Good for her ,I’m super proud of her or to anyone that kicks the horrible habit but it’s so do able especially with the good things they have now to help you but you must be dedicated to it.Again the end reward is just awesome.

Time for some energy work to clear the trauma from your field. Tuning fork sound therapy is recommended. Good luck.

I knew Alyx growing up, we weren't close but we had a couple mutual friends and I would see her around often throughout being a teen. I always admired how beautiful and liked she was, as I also suffer from lack of self appreciation. I remember going to small shows at little clubs and bars to listen to her sing on songs she was featured on with a group called HOF and I just thought she was the coolest person. I followed her and her family on facebook while being friends with them and watching her ups and downs and always praying for her, as I always knew she had so much to offer the world, and I knew one day she would. It just goes to show you, no matter how much you think someone has it all, the beauty, the voice, the popularity, the friends that you just never really know what someone is going through outside of the public eye, and for that you should always be kind. She deserved much more than the world gave her at the time, but it also made her this amazing woman we're all here watching today. I'm proud of you, and your family for overcoming such hard times and I'm so glad you get to now live the beautiful life you always deserved.

Wow that was great. Kevin you let her just flow. The way Alyx’ eyes lit up when she shifted from her dark past to getting “the sober job” and helping people. Her eyes literally lit up. You could see her glowing. She is an inspiration. This episode will indeed help a lot of people. Keep up the great work Kevin.

Meth doesn't give you a particular high when I tried it I didn't feel high I just felt a lot of energy and couldn't sleep very different from cocaine I personally didn't like it cause I love the down head. So when I tried heroin it was over I was in love I actually stopped every other drug it was heroin that I fell in love with didn't even drink anymore. Then I met the guy with the orange head and I was in love

Hey, if you are interested, I have quite the story. I am now 64, and my mom died and left with an adoptive stepfather, who were both teachers, and grew up in my teen yrs in a little town with a general store, 3 churches, and if you blinks going by on the highway you would miss us. The little town was called Kinnear’s Mills in Quebec, Canada. I left when I was 19 to Vancouver from Montreal, thinking it was a big city, lol, but what a culture shock! Anyways, got into the drugs, lived on the street 10 yrs, after had 2 children, lost them 5 times to CPS and worked to feet them back and did, and now am a grandma. This is a long story very condensed and lots missing along the way! Big time crack head, heroin addict to methadone and am now clean except for 25 mls of methadone from 180 mls and counting, both my kids beat the statistics and are great with their own lives, 2 sons, one 2 children and the other 4. 2 are hers and 2 are his. One of the 2 are both of theirs. If you are brave enough to take on my story, send me a text and I’d be happy to share! Anything to send hope to all the young mom’s who have lost hope. Thanks for listening

My experience on suboxon was the worst because I had a high tolerance my doctor put me on 4 8mg at the time it was suboxon pills I took not the strips and they were suboxon not subutext but anyways my doctor didn't want me to split them up during the day he told me take them all 4 at once that's 32mgs so I was legit high as a kit on them and because I was "getting high" off them I just started to sell them and went back to using dope it wasn't till I got myself on the sublicade shot where it really stuck for me that was the best choice over suboxon subutext or methadone. You take it once a month and it slowly releases into your system and if you want to stop and get off of it you can just stop you don't have to tamper down no withdrawal nothing I promise if you can look into it it truly works best 🖤

I worked at a treatment center back in 2020 the same time Alyx was working there - we didn't really interact with one another due to working at different locations, but I always knew she was a radiant light. The clients all lovedddd her and I can absolutely see why after watching this! She has such a genuine and authentic spirit. Seeing her talk about the joy she finds in the simplicity of her life made me smile. Her light was not taken from her by the darkness she experienced, and her grounded nature is so calming. Thanks for sharing your story with the world Alyx, you are so incredibly strong and this world is lucky to have you in it 🩷

I was on my way to prison the last time I was arrested.. my lawyer fought and got me in in drug court, and it’s saving my life. I was so pissed at first, but now, I’m so grateful for it. Honestly. I graduate in November of this year. I can identify with a lot of her story, and she is amazing for overcoming everything she has. I hope to be as successful as she is, and to work with people in addiction, once I graduate. Love this.
