All the shapes and forms you drew in these exercises -- were they from a method of learning to draw? Looks like what I do using The Loomis Method (from book, Fun With Pencil, by Andrew Loomis, 1939, rereleased 2012 by Titan Publishing) and from Brent Eviston's book, The Art and Science of Drawing. Eviston said in his Udemy online beginners' class video that drawing 100's of boxes is how you learn to hold your pencil, draw forms, etc. etc.
I really like your going through your sketchbook -- it encourages me to practice, it reinforces Stan Proko and Marshall Vander... The Draftsmen on YT -- both artists and art teachers who encourage practice.
(BTW: I found you through your "Color Mixing Masterclass" as part of my color theory self-styled art school curriculum. I'm an acrylic pouring artist seeking to improve art skills across the board. So, I began with fundamentals -- drawing. And, I love it. I'm still a beginner, but my drawing has improved seriously! due to playing in scratch and sketch books, daily messing around, and following texts and YT instruction videos/Udemy classes. My approach is immersive, but like you I do the work and don't obsess over the results which is very Zen/meditative for me.)
Thx for sharing your drawabox. com resource. Sounds like a great course. I'm always in the market for resources to fit my fixed income.
