Better way to search for apps is to go to nova settings > gestures and inputs and add swipe down gesture as app search.. it will be much faster than long pressing the small tiny arrow and much more intuitive. :)

Since I prefer organizing over searching, I have set up my app drawer, which I open with swipe up, with two tabs. The first one contains app folders like “communication”, “organization”, “travel”, etc. The second one contains all the apps I have not sorted into these folders (stuff I do not really use but cannot or do not want to uninstall). A few apps I need all the time I have also linked on my home screen, with sensible swipe actions where possible; e.g. Todoist with “create task” on swipe.
I also use Swiftly Switch and have both my home screen and the app drawer configured as quick actions.
