Just finished a smoothie and avocado toast and now covered in kitties under a fuzzy blanket 🥰
ОтветитьGreat advise and perspective, Kayln. I feel like your perspective is coming across as someone who has really done the work and as a result, you seem so genuine. Thanks for the heartfelt inspiration and motivation to live a life that’s right for me
ОтветитьI just have to say: How does the hair just get better and better?
I loved this one❤
I think a really good way to seek more happiness or an overall sense of feeling content, (or even the balance of being a work in progress and a masterpiece simultaneously) is by taking time to write out or think of your dream life. If money wasn't an issue and you had your dream career or family/friend life, what would a day in that life look like? After you dream up this kind of day, then you can try and see how much of it you can incorporate into your life now. Maybe you want to wake up in the morning, make your own coffee and do some yoga before you start the rest of your day, but right now you have a job or school that you have to go to early in the morning. Maybe for now you do a quick 5 minute stretch and grab a coffee on your way to that job or school. Maybe you want to read more for pleasure but you have a lot of obligations right now, so maybe you listen to some audio books when you're driving or cleaning.
As far as FOMO, I have two things I like to remind myself of. If I'm feeling like I'm a little jealous or I'm missing out on what other people are doing I think, okay what if I actually switched lives with them, do I really want everything they have? Usually the answer is no, but if you find yourself saying yes, you could work with that and see if what they have aligns with your values and if it is really something you want to strive for.
Another thing with FOMO is it's just impossible to do it all. We only have so much time and it's better to fill it with things that you feel are meant for you rather than feeling like you're missing out. Staying present. Which of course, is easier said than done, but possible!
Hope you all have a great day/night! I love this community. :)
I have a question from what you talked about in the start of this video. Is the membership now, just the sunday live hangouts combining everything into the one session (Journaling/yoga/book club) and then early access to coffee talks?
I don't connect with the sunday club sessions or the content in them as that type of format and I have been missing the individual content and yoga videos.
I have been very reluctant to ask because I also appreciate this is your 'maternity leave' time and I'm grateful to you for anything you have the time to share at the moment 🥰
I am curious to know what you're intentions are for the membership moving forward.
I'm just over here in the corner as your number one vlog hangout fan. Lol
And if that is not the direction that you want anymore that's okay and I'll always be a fan, Id just like to know where the membership is going so I can decide if it's the right fit for me 🥰
It’s so true - we become desensitized to the physical world when we are too engaged in the digital world. I feel like that leads to this concept that to emotionally survive the amount of information we are bringing in we need to be emotionally and mentally desensitized to it.
There was this video I saw where a teacher who had been teaching elementary school kids for close to 15-20 years said that the “fun activities” she’d always done for her students no longer caught their attention. One of her students even said to her “When are we going to do something fun?” when she was doing one of the projects that had alway been a hit with her students in previous years - the quick dopamine hits the kids got online has desensitized them to the joys the physical, the real right in front of you world provides. That teacher said she felt so defeated when she heard that.
It is so so so important to have digital health - too much screen time literally rewires your brain and reception. Scary to really think about.
Such a needed coffee talk, thank you! It's so important to find a conscious balance with social media/the internet in general. Still learning how to slow down and stop feeling that fear of missing out all the time but I hope to get there eventually! Would love more videos on this topic and I'm super excited for the one on discovering our values
ОтветитьI miss youuuuu❤️
ОтветитьAHHHH I MISSED YOUR VIDEOS SO MUCH
ОтветитьMissed your soul 💕
ОтветитьI love listening to your podcast while I'm cleaning. Your voice is so calming and helps me just kinda zone out (in a good way) and just glide thru all my GYST-ing. Thank you for all your content ❤️
ОтветитьJust what I needed. Thank you Kalyn ❤
ОтветитьJust the video I needed today! ❤ January can be hard for so many people, myself included. That being said, small bits of joy throughout the day are so special - your coffee talks being one of them!
ОтветитьYay!! A new video. Thank you for your advice.
ОтветитьDigital overwhelm is definitely running rampant! This was a really good take on that. I think I interpreted the question a little differently, though--specifically, the term "global context".
Even if we learn to manage digital overwhelm, there are still some very stressful and unique challenges in today's world: the threat of future pandemics, the rise of government authoritarianism, chronic injury and increased mortality from both COVID and the pokey-poke, a divided society, the economic recession, wars, food and energy crises, climate change or environmental degradation, and the elitist push toward transhumanism. There's a LOT going on. Even if we disconnect from the media, we'll still be impacted by at least some of these events.
What brings me peace among all this craziness has been understanding WHAT I CAN CONTROL vs. WHAT I CANNOT CONTROL and focusing on the former. I can't control the economy, but I can set up another income or build a new skill. I can't control food shortages, but I can teach myself how to garden. I can't control societal division, but I can work on building myself a community. I can't stop wars, but I can contribute to humanitarian relief efforts. I can't stop government authoritarianism, but I can work on becoming more self-sufficient. I can't control other people, but that's why it's so important that I learn to master my own body, heart, mind, and soul: through sleep, nutrition, exercise, journalling, therapy, emotional processing, and good habits and routines.
This has been my saving grace throughout this whole damn pandemic. And it's a lesson I'm still putting into practice. I hope it helps someone.
I think updating the thumbnail would make more people click
ОтветитьThe ability Kalyn has to know what we're all collectively are going through🤌🏻✨️
ОтветитьI am less than 2 minutes in, and based off the comments i am super excited for this coffee talk! I wanted to make a comment to thank you for acknowledging your assistants role in your company. I have worked in multiple assistant roles and we do SO much for our bosses and I worked for someone that would take all the credit for her success and never took the time to acknowledge how hard I worked to help make her life and job easier. it makes it so much more fulfilling to work for someone that will give credit/acknowledge our existence in their company. so thank you!!
ОтветитьInternet fatigue is definitely real and I think a lot of us don’t deal with that well. Something I found really interesting about the general decrease in overall happiness in younger generations was the theory of the 3rd place. Previous generations , elder millennial and gen x were probably the last to have experienced some of the 3rd place. The 3rd place for many people used to be churches, granges, elk lodge, Masonic lodge, etc. it was a place where people congregated regularly to socialize and share. 1st and 2nd places being work and home. Everything we do now is setup to further nuclear families, instead of generational living, and push us further from societal bonds, even when we are seemingly more connected than ever before.
Ответить"Kalyn's Coffee Talk" has a sort of ring to it 😅💕💕💕💕💕
ОтветитьGirl, I missed you! Thank you for the coffee talk, it was comforting as always!
ОтветитьI just finished up with therapy where I was talking to her about being in a mental fog and not really knowing who i am and trying to let go of the past to get to a better present and future. Blows my mind that this came up on my feed right after I finished therapy. Love you!!
ОтветитьI would love to see more perspectives on self discovery and finding your values. I think revisiting this idea regularly is important because we’re constantly changing and I find value in checking in and making sure my actions align with my values. Thank you for these coffee talks!
ОтветитьI’d love a coffee talk over FOMO.
ОтветитьThank you for this. This message came at such perfect timing! I’m going on a solo trip to nyc this weekend, and I’m inspired to take a social media break while on the trip. Since it’s a solo trip, my first instinct would be to get on social media, but I want to fully embrace being alone in an unfamiliar space, and open myself upto unknown possibilities! 💕
ОтветитьI think for some of us scrolling through our photos and videos can actually be a form of under stimulation. We’re not actually focusing on what’s on our screen unless something really catches our attention.
ОтветитьI feel like I need to watch this one again … and take notes.
ОтветитьNow that we transitioned to coffee talk, are we gonna see the expresso brew and cosmic brew come back? I miss those! Thanks for your great content!
ОтветитьGood morning happy Wednesday morning and I hope you having amazing day today and I loved your vlogs and you are amazing Supporter and I'm proud of you and I enjoy your channel because you are amazing
ОтветитьThank you so much for this video. I have definitely been feeling the blues and having anxiety about the state if the world as a US citizen and an election year next year that will bring the usual horrible news reels of division and riots worse even than 2020 and 2016. Im trying to live in peace with my little family unit but its sometimes easier said than done.
ОтветитьJust found you!I am in love with your content!
I am drinking “spa water”. I had a massage this morning; my neck and shoulder have been hurting me of and on.
I was offered some of the “Spa Water” that was available at the place I went to. Super yummy, refreshing, and easy (ice , water, fresh sliced cucumber, and fresh sliced lemon)..
2022 was a challenging year for my family. And with the onset of the new year, there continues to be some challenges. There are some amazing things happening too.. I am full of gratitude.. 🦋🤍🧿
Your content is such a breath of fresh air ❤️
ОтветитьWatching this video with a cup of lavender tee☕ ; kalyn you are the only content creator I know that speaks the truth about social media and make a clear vision about how it work for your viewers ; and this is exactly why I'm subscribed to your channel and follow you , thank you for being a source of light and honesty on social media ❤.
ОтветитьWhat time are the Sunday live chats UK time? Thanks 😊
ОтветитьIt’s important to also recognise that not everyone has the ability to be able to move to countryside areas etc.
I like to unwind by doing similar thing such as journaling and yoga. However I would love to live in a more peaceful area. Unfortunately the access to jobs etc and the rat race still has me living in a big city but who knows one day maybe 🤞🏼
Drinking coffee, eating goldfish crackers. Thanks for sharing 😊
ОтветитьJust found your page and here to support ya!
ОтветитьI've been thinking about cutting back on screen time to make space for other activities and if this isn't a sign then I don't know what is 🤣🤣
ОтветитьI needed that 🤍
I would love to see a talk about FOMO in Social Media but also in the real world. Because it‘s true, you can‘t have it all but sometimes that‘s really hard to accept.
Thank you for everything, Kalyn 💕
I love your talks 💛
ОтветитьThis video could not have found me at a better time. I am currently taking a year out of work to travel but I’m finding it hard to switch off and enjoy the moment as I’m focusing on trying to grow my travel blog/Instagram account. I LOVE sharing my experiences with people and meeting new friends because of it, but I do often see myself getting too fixated on the numbers. I really appreciated your insights on being conscious and getting back to being more in tune with myself. I’m really going to take some time to reassess how I’m doing things and WHY I’m doing them. What is meant for me will find me ✨💫✨ THANK YOU KALYN xxxxx
ОтветитьI’m so glad I found your channel💕 You described exactly how I've been feeling! My phone leaves me feeling constantly overstimulated - especially as a mom!
P.S. I get that FOMO too from trying to take social media breaks! It's like an itch I need to scratch🙈 I really appreciate you talking about giving that uncomfortable feeling "awareness" rather than judging it as goos/bad. I'd love to hear more on this topic! Thank you x
Just preparing for the biggest interview of my life I will look forward to watching this when it’s finished to calm down. Your love and support means so much don’t ever forget how much you do for people. For me. Sending all of the hugs and loves in the world. Lu X
ОтветитьMy phone is never off my hand and my screen time in general (WFH) is way too much, but it makes me so anxious to disconnect... I need something all the time, it's indeed dopamine seeking, but it feels like I would literally go crazy without those little hits of dopamine from junk media. Your work has always given me so much peace, and it's been a pleasure watching you grow and be proud of you as if you were a sibling of mine.
ОтветитьThis was so well timed for what I’m processing in my life right now. This is really great content, thank you!
ОтветитьExellent video. So good. I am working hard now for the ability to generate passive income. It will enable me to live slower/more in tune with myself.
ОтветитьI like your hair
ОтветитьWatching this now, because I rely on my phone and procrastinate on doing things I have to do to be a functioning human. I’m navigating on not having my best friend as our paths no longer cross and I’ve been more so relying on my phone for the dopamine hit I used to get from hanging out with him.
Ответитьwhats the blue thing in the background?
