Wow! I'm blown away by the response to this video. Just a few points of clarification:
1 - Restore & Protect is for gasoline engines. It is not designed or intended for use in diesel engines.
2 - Many viewers asked for a video about this product, and it just happened that I know Roger and we are working on the hydrogen engine project along with Total Seal. That's how this video came into being. Valvoline did not contact me to sponsor this video.
3 - The point of this video is that what you see on a spec sheet doesn’t always equate to what will actually happen in the engine. That's why I wanted to make this video and in this way. Spec sheets don't tell the whole story, and this product provided a perfect way to illustrate that point.
so valvoline farms out all their work to india good to know so i will be buying somebody elses oil.
ОтветитьThis Oil is getting a lot of Hype, I've got the Valvoline high mileage blend to put in, I'm just shy of 200,000 mi on my engine. But I'd love to use this product once in the future
ОтветитьJust put valvoline in mine 3 weeks ago and just now stumbled across this video
ОтветитьFrom personal and professional experience, I won't use Valvoline.
ОтветитьHave a diesel almost 300k miles now and got to say Synpower c3 5w30 for me worked magic, car got healthier in emmissions. Oil changed every 6-7k miles❤🎉 never changing V😊
ОтветитьDude outright lied! Mobile 1 operates and engine test facility in Paulsboro New Jersey - they also have many race cars the use to develop new products and improvements - why flat out lie? Now I don’t believe anything that guy says.
ОтветитьYou really knocked it out of the park with this one. Nice work!
Have a Class C motorhome with the Ford 20 valve V10 with close to 160,000 miles. Runs perfect but developed some lifter noise at cold start up. Also uses a bit more oil than I like.
Recently did an oil change with Mobil 1 High Mileage 5W-30 synthetic. As the engine is well maintained, my plan is to add a bottle of Amsoil Power Flush and crank the engine and let it run for at least 20 minutes for several days in a row while parked. This cured some lifter noise eight years ago. Will then switch to R&P 5W-30 to see if it will free up some possible stuck piston rings
I dont believe in this product as an engine builder. If everyone begins to use this oil. I will be out of business in 5 year. I charge between $3500 and $5000 for each engine. I cant believed that for $30 every 5k miles you will never need to see an egine guy.
ОтветитьI see less metal shavings in my oil filter using this oil. I still see a little bit where I put the magnets, but way less.
ОтветитьI like Valvoline's race oil, now I love Valvoline's race oil
ОтветитьValvoline is no longer an American oil. Might be blended here but the only American part of Valvoline is their oil change stores. The oil is foreign.
I was a 25 year plus user of Valvoline. Not anymore. They sold out. Support an actual American company that keeps its money here not sent overseas.
i need this oil, but theres no speck for my car... also not available in europe? why Valvoline? the car manufacturers reduced piston rings tension before 2000s, these oils should have been made long ago. i can't belive i cant find a proper oil with similar properties with valvoline restore and protect.
ОтветитьValvoline Restore and Protect is all I use, was a big mobil 1 fan for years, but I have literally 500,000 plus miles on Valvoline syn, Valvoline extended protections and now restore an protect on all my vehicles, nobody does it better than Valvoline, those two guys from Valvoline; in this video, have an important job and to me the best job in the world, thank you for creating the most superior motor oil.
ОтветитьAwesome video. I was searching for a research video regarding VRP. FOUND IT. I am using it right now in a Nissan 2.0l engine with 100k. Did a piston soak now using VRP. Was using a quart every tank of fuel used. Let ya know soon.
ОтветитьI really wish you'd shown pistons that had gone through not just one, but two, three and four oil changes.
ОтветитьGreat video. I knew your mom and dad back in the early 70s.
ОтветитьI’m about to do a bg flush then start running this. Car at 94k
ОтветитьWe need a 10W-30 or 10W-40 version of this oil for classic vehicles.
ОтветитьI tried this oil in my Subaru Forester after watching this video, 140,000 miles, had a hot start chain slap or cam phaser knock, ready for an oil change and noticed the noise is gone now, I'm sold I've always liked Valvoline and this proves they know their stuff, thanks Lake for posting very informative videos👍
ОтветитьBiodiesel would probably do the same thing with diesel engines!
ОтветитьWhy is the double flush the standard for engine testing of oil? It doesn't make sense - flushing engine oil is not representative of a typical oil change. I'd say "nobody flushes engine oil" but I'm sure that people have some counterexamples (I can think of cleaning products you might add to oil and want to flush afterwards). I'd like to see the results of similar testing with just repeated "drain and fill" oil changes, with a filter change at recommended intervals (e.g. every oil change or every other oil change).
ОтветитьI'll stick with AMSOIL!!
ОтветитьI really wish this oil is also available on the european market. There are so many 90's and early 2000's japanese cars, which are oil guzzlers and would greatly benefit from it.
ОтветитьSo maybe, I missed something here in the comments but if the oil breaks down all the contamination would not possibly plug up the pick up screen? I've been using Pennzoil Ultra Platinum for about 3 years and really like but wouldn't be opposed to switching.
ОтветитьI just want someone to pull the oil pan showing the bottom of the engine then do it again after some oil changes
ОтветитьSince the analysis is focusing on the additive package and there's nothing unusual about it I'm not sure I'm buying the whole synergy thing being responsible for that much cleansing function it seems to me that they would have to be some sort of solvent in the base oil or something that puts the flash point through the roof like 550 or more for this to be functioning at such a high level of cleansing 🤔🤔🤔
Ответитьimagine putting that stuff in an old Harley or a Ford and getting the motor back to its glory without tearing it apart.. Does sound too good to be true.
Ответитьcan u mix different brands of engine oil? I like to Valvoline restore and Valvoline extended protection
ОтветитьDoes this affect valves & cams in any way?
ОтветитьTalking about filter not clogging. How many miles should this oil be run before oil change? Filter life? 5k, 10k, 25k?
ОтветитьSo I have a Mercedes A220. Low compression in cylinder 3. Replaced ignition coil, injector. Going to do this. I wonder if there is an issue using Marvel mystery Oil on these cars?
ОтветитьSo why don't they make it in an sae 30 or 10w30? I've got several older vehicles that I'd like to run this in but they don't make it in a viscosity for the engines that actually need restored & protected.
ОтветитьYou talk like Rand Paul. You could be his voice double😂
Ответить"We start with a lab in Mumbai India"
You lost me
Great information great video. I started hearing about this oil and want to give it a go. My wifes Ford needs a oil change so im going to use this oil and give it a shot. Im waiting for my car to be due for a oil change so i can use this oil and see how it does. So far I havent seen any complaints from people who use this oil and mechanics I talk to even recommend this oil. I myself work on cars but not all pro like others. Now i want to rebuild another engine and only use this oil and see how many miles and engine life I can get. Again great video 👍👍👍
ОтветитьActually. Mind blow. Love this stuff. Love to know everything about rosella T6. Run it in my 2000 5.9 cummins. 467000. Miles.
Ответитьi remember somewhere they said about the ingredient that cleans the inside of the engine. I remember I googled the ingredient
ОтветитьHi: I have a 2013 Audi A6 3.0T Supercharged engine and am experiencing high oil consumption. I suspect that it's due to deposits causing the rings to stick. I've been using LiquiMoly 5W-40 Synthoil in it consistently. Would you say that the Valvoline R & P 5W-30 (they don't appear to offer a 5W-40) is OK to use & do you think it is better for deposit formation than the LiquiMoly Synthoil in that respect or should I stick with the LiquiMoly? Thanks in advance!
ОтветитьI converted all of my vehicle to this oil. Time will tell. Thanks for taking the time to show us all these things.
ОтветитьShould i worry about my oil filter getting clogged up from using this oil? Since it actually cleans most deposits and all of that is going to the filter, if so how often would you recommend checking?
ОтветитьI read somewhere that cleaning ALL of the deposits out of an engine may make oil consumption actually worse, anyone know of this is true? Considering using this in my daughter’s 2005 Camry with the infamous 4 cyl oil burner but I’m hesitant to do it. Hers burns a quart every 500 miles.
ОтветитьUs old Bradshaw guys would argue about Brady.. haha. Most things hydrogen smell like a fart. .
ОтветитьAlways used Valvoline for some reason.....now I'm glad I did as I've never had an engine issue in 45 years. I'm changing over to the Restore and Protect product on the next oil change.
ОтветитьIs this oil good for diesel engines?
ОтветитьMy wife's 2009 Elantra - driven 2 miles to work and 2 miles home every day. Church is 3 blocks away - severe service.
I've been changing the oil every 3,000 miles with full synthetic and a premium filter. The car has 120,000 miles on it with no engine issues.
The last oil change I used Valvoline R&P. At 1,500 miles the oil is as dirty as it normally is at 3,000 miles. I'll be changing the oil again tomorrow, with R&P and a new filter.
This stuff really works!
💩Pentastar Sludge... Yuck!💩 Valvoline Oils have always been very good products.
ОтветитьBut why it only clean the bottom part of the piston rings and not the top part?
Ответить
