Binaural. Check your title... Great channel.
ОтветитьDoes anyone know if noise cancellation is good with these in edits? I’m interested in the 3d audio recording but was hoping that noise cancellation would be easier since you could multiple of those audio clips and hopefully have software that can cut that out?
ОтветитьYou (we) can't hear any of them 'vertically' - seriously you(we) have 2 speakers L and R - not surround sound....
Ответитьbinural?
ОтветитьHi
What absolut using this mic for 5:1 sound for film for normale cinema speakers?
Will that be any sens?
Not for dialog but atmosphere sound.
Thank you for your content ❤ and on the work, you do to bring us musicians knowledge ! sorry for my English,
As an Abonnent.. composer and mastering engineer, please reduce (a little bit ) the ratio compression of your voice….. but this is struggling on the highest shelf (German idiom…. Idiot😮) Thank you!
As an audio engineer I've wroked on quite a bit of Ambisonics-Projects for 360-Videos. Started in 2016. And I know: Ambisonics will eventually hit the big time. Because it is INSANE.
Ответитьhow about sdk for Unity game engine - for setting up 6dof ambisonic vr experience (free roaming around a virtual environment)
ОтветитьHey marv
ОтветитьKinda difficult to pay attention to your VO when aggro dubstep is being quietly piped into my ears at the same time.
ОтветитьHate to be that guy, but the comparison between Full HD and 3D Audio doesn't really add up.
Seems like 3d Vjdeo and 3d Audio would be a better comparison.
It's mostly used in theatres the setups at home can be quite gimmicky and when speaking of Dolby Atmos, it's really expensive.
Yeah this doesn't really account for Binaural decoded Audio, since it's still perfectly playable on normal stereo speakers most of the time, but adds another world of possibilities when using headphones, which most of the people do.
But I don't know if Ambisonics Mixing is actually worth the hassle of pretty much completely restructuring your workflow around it. (And me saying I don't know means I'm actually looking for an answer to this qestion)
You also could use some Binaural panner (that decodes to binaural internally) and this adding the effect for headphones (and even some loudspeaker-setups)
Is the cost worth it?
(Edit: Reading a comment below, it could be that the audio encoding on this video is not suitably representing the desired positional affect.) Hmmm. Unfortunately, at least for me, without the visual cues -- listening with your eyes closed, even with the voice indications of where the sound is positioned -- only the stereo widening makes any difference. ALL other motion in the supposed 3D sound field simply sounds like left and right panning with varying reverb and delicate delays (reflections). Of course, when watching, you'll trick yourself into hearing "WOW! It's behind me... just as indicated on the screen! WOW!" There are actually three psychological affects happening when watching, again at least for me: 1) seeing is believing, 2) I WANT my ears' and brain's sound localization ability to be on par with the ability and nuance the presenter seems to indicate he has, 3) I REALLY WANT it to work, so I project it working. I believe there's merit and benefit of the system. I'm sure it does great with object sound placement in real 5.1 speaker and above environments. However, for binaural HRTF, it's probably best suited to emulating sound environments (various headphones, car, rooms, etc.) rather than sound placement within those environments.
ОтветитьThis is useless. You can get better results even starting with mono audio, if you process it manualy.
ОтветитьYou have misunderstood the concept. You are DIRECTING the MICROPHONE, NOT the PLACEMENT of the sound. For that you need to export it in many available surround formats, which is totally possible with this microphone. To HEAR it, it needs be encoded to either; option 1 - BINAURAL for headphones, or option 2 - ANY SURROUND FORMAT to be used in a surround delivery format. To be then played back in a surround system!
ОтветитьWow this is totally cool! I really want to hear movies, sports, and other stuff this way.
ОтветитьO M G This is going to be a gamechanger for my ASMR career loll . Thank you!!
ОтветитьThis is so cool. It seems like whats happening is just a combination of panning and delaying the left and right side but the VST can do those settings very easily and quickly.
Ответитьthe fact that this is free is amazing
Ответитьfun fact_ The Foto out of focus and change the focus later is actually a thing
ОтветитьI hate the rotating the sound, makes me dizzy
ОтветитьYeah and I think with Rode's plugin you can do up to 12 channal Atmos. How you get Atmos from 4 capsles don't ask me. I don't get it either but still awesome.
ОтветитьMy dude, I started enjoying this video when you started talking, but when you showed the plugin I was blown away :-) I have a H2 but I have never used the capabilities. Guess what, that might change :-) THanks a lot!
ОтветитьI don’t really like the idea of this being the eventual standard. Feels sorta gimmicky but it could be cool if it’s used tastefully. I like my 2d sound and at the end of the day nothing sounds or feels as good as actually being there. It’s a cool effect coupled with video but by itself it doesn’t seem necessary.
ОтветитьJust picked up the NT-SF1 and also just a binaural mic, I think for a YT non 360/VR the Binaural will suffice and be much easier to edit, but got the SF1 so I can do full 360 audio for VR video content. Just curious as you demoed the mastering process of the plugin, was that just your 2 channel PC audio captured? Did you later add your mono vocal track ontop of that or was this all recorded in one shot and recorded? I think I could do that with OBS by capturing my Microphone to a track and my PC audio to a track and have it mix down.
Ответитьthis plugin makes everything Mono Nothing Stereo...
ОтветитьSo you mentioned you need headphones for this, but would you gain anything at all from using speakers?
Ответить'' Please put on headphones ''
Hah ! jokes on you !
*Laugh sitting
in 5,1 mixing studio''
Great viideo!!
I really 3d audio that is like high def for the blind which I am. Like you said some sounds are better than others.
ОтветитьSo say you were to record ambience sounds for a film that needed to be exported to stereo.. Would you still here the spatial audio at all from regular stereo speakers?
Ответитьi instsalled SoundFieldByRODE_ver1.2 and can't find anything that it installed
ОтветитьWhy - what ever will happen till the end of time - each & every "new hyper omni ambience VR 3D Binaural etcetc." sound will always be a stereo sound and nothing more what ever they will tell you?
Because you will never ever have more than 2 ears (when you are happy!)
This was always and will always be the main aspect of what ever you will listen to!
As long this will not change there will never be anything else than STEREO!
You don't need headphone at all.
I'm using Dolby ATMOS which is spacial audio and can hear better audio quality and better spacial recognition then I could on my gaming headphones.
I actually play with spacial sound while making beats too add hidden sound layers for audiophiles.
And the oculus and other VR headsets with built in sound already take full advantage because you can actually turn your head and hear in a 3D plane completely.
What you're doing is forcing our heads to turn in that experience.
The only way even you'd truly be able to experience it is if you place a tracker and sensor and when you turn your head the program should auto turn the focus of that 3D head model your flipping around.
We are hearing where it is facing.
This application would be good for 4D moving chair style theatrics.
Thank You! Had to Subscribe.
ОтветитьSimply well explaind.
What is the Hardware vu meter in your left side of the Rack ?
Please share te brand and details
I bought the NT-SF1 about two months ago, about to use my recordings in a video game, it was great recording with it but wind is a real limitation, usually you just turn the mic away from the direction of the wind but this mic has 4 directions so there's really no point in turning it
ОтветитьDo you have a email that I contact you at? I need help with this asap. Thanks
ОтветитьI find Dear VR pro more precise.
ОтветитьOK what do I do given I am deaf in one ear and have both restricted range & noise attenuation in the one that works???
ОтветитьI am so glad I put my headphones on
ОтветитьI produced and commercialized music with Ambisonics, mixed down to HRTF. It's simply Amazing! Even using 2 speakers, being in the sweetspot, you get all the deep and hightbof the sound stage. I do love it!
ОтветитьBrilliant you have opened my eyes 👀
Cheers
bro how the fuck do you have a shock mounted Neumann , analog compressor, full RGB studio lighting, perfect room tone, excellent color and resolution, outboard mixers, stinger transitions and this vid has less than 1k views in 2 months. what
ОтветитьTried it with several different headphones. Cheap with $65 ATH, medium with $350 HiFiman and expensive: $3,600 Focal HPhones. While I can hear it on other channels playing Dear VR or Waves Ambisonics stuff all I hear on this channel is like panning. I think you are doing something way wrong.
ОтветитьThis was incredible! I'll be sitting here waiting for 10th order Ambisonics for all I care
ОтветитьIt is only working predominately L/R, not front back or up/down to any very noticeable degree— and I tried listening with both my Abyss 1266 Phi TC open back headphones, 64Audio U18T IEM’s and my Focal Radiance closed back headphones. All were about the same: L/R worked, but not really U/D or F/B. Maybe you need a 7th order ambisonics recording...?
ОтветитьYou should check 3rd order Ambisonics mic ZYLIA ZM-1:-)
ОтветитьDamnit! I just spent a ton of dough on a new TV and sound system. Your demos did sound pretty cool.
