Story 1 yep, these people literally did all these violations. They were the ones who risked the violations leaking especially when their non-family member worker was blamed and fired for something out of his control causing that non-family member worker to get angry.
However, OP is so in the wrong. He noticed all these violations and documenting them for future purposes rather than for the sake of doing the right thing and protecting people who could get hurt and he just sat and watched and say “yep, documenting this. Don’t know when I’ll need it, better job eff me over people!”
Wrong. All parties in the wrong.
Sheriffs in the US wear beige and officers are normally on navy or black
ОтветитьThe OP who earned some money as a minor in the entertainment industry needs to contact either the actor's guild (like their union) or his old agent to get referrals for a lawyer. Hell, if he kept his SAG card current, they might even pay for it. CA especially doesn't take kindly to parents essentially stealing the funds their minor children earn and several have gotten in big trouble - hence the name Coogan's Law (named for child and then adult actor Jackie Coogan from decades ago who ended up with very little).
ОтветитьBestofnoupdate has such great stories that it drives me crazy knowing that they have no updates 🤣
I want to know if OP(15m) was able to save his money from the parents.
S2: A 6 yr old pouting and adamant, just tell that spoiled brat shut up. Don't enable, encourage, or coddle this kind of behavior in a child. There are times when you should show anger to children, otherwise you might see them end up dead when they grow up. There was a crime documentary which I watched very recently, where they enabled adamant behavior in a toddler, and the whole family was singing praises about how and when she wanted something there was nothing that they could do, and they had to give what she wanted. That same toddler a teen turned to be a bully, and was killed by several other people and thrown off of a bridge, because she took something's from them against their refusal.
As for the sister in the story, she needs to be taught a lesson she will never forget. She can shove her spoiled brat, arrogant and adamant princess back where she came from.
"I've seen that before" after the bit about people standing on forklifts said in the tone of a Vietnam vet lol.
ОтветитьFrom what I've seen, generally if an Acronym sounds good sounded out, It gets to be sounded out. Sound out OSHA and sound out ADA. OSHA feels smoother and sounds important to me. ADA sounds like something out of a baby's mouth. Keep the dignity.
ОтветитьStory 3: If OP dropped the history of other child stars that lost everything because their parents ran through the money & the fact that there's now laws to prevent that sort of thing from happening it might be a hint that he knows, which might be enough to dissuade them. Alternatively if he's asked to talk to the Judge during the proceedings OP could mention it to the Judge in private hopefully. Either way this is a HUGE level of bad parenting.
ОтветитьAs a fat girl I'm laughing so hard I'm jiggling at the last story 😂
ОтветитьIn America, sheriff is usually county police and police are city police
ОтветитьStory 1: Working in the oil industry, you can have your thought off this industry, but their safety culture is over the top. OP was obliged to have started the discussion on safety as soon as he noticed. Talk to the person who was acting unsafe, talk to management, repeat several times and if no action is undertaken he should reported that company to the governments safety department. Save peoples life’s is priority nr 1 over your job!
ОтветитьS3- What horrible parents! Who plans to steal from their child like that? I hope they don't manage to adopt any children if this is how they treat their own child.
S2- NTA, The sister is doing her daughter no favours. If she's told no, she can just steal, but it's ok, she just wants to be a princess! Great life lesson... Not.
My mother left her purse on a chair in a shoe store when a clerk called her away, then moments later excused themselves because they "made a mistake." Mom found her purse on the floor instead of the chair but thought nothing of it. Later that day, one of the credit card companies called Mom to ask about a sudden unusual flurry of small purchases at a shopping mall several miles away... that had all started about an hour after the incident in the shoe store. Since then, there was a case when someone tried to use the card at an expensive restaurant in Florida (we live in Maryland), and late last year I was reviewing the credit card bills with Mom online and found SEVENTY assorted Uber and Lyft charges, all corresponding with typical commute times, all in San Francisco. The credit card company finally agreed to shut down the card and issue a new one with a totally different number.. which was mailed to Mom in a somewhat obvious envelope, already activated and ready to go without so much as a signature... >:-(
Ответитьsecond story: I'm willing to bet that if the ring was lost the sister would victim blame and go "if you only let her borrow it for a while, this wouldn't have happened"
ОтветитьThat ring story is infuriating. And damn the money story is just as bad!!!!
ОтветитьStory 2: She stole the ring and then literally proved Op's point by forgetting the ring and still somehow thinks she's in the right 💀
ОтветитьI've always been told that you can't swap seats on an airplane for safety reasons? If the plane crashes and people are unconscious, then you can refer to the seating layout and tickets to identify people - unless what I've been told is not true lol
ОтветитьStory 2 OH HEII NO! I would never steal something from my family for my daughters to wear. Just letting the daughter get whatever she wants is doing a disservice to her. That mother is raising a spoilt entitled brat with this behavior.
ОтветитьI would file a police report on my sister for stealing my engagement ring. Have to police to show up to get the ring. Let the cops take her to the station in handcuffs. Once at the station I would then decide if that was enough or to press charges.
ОтветитьStory 3 is extra cruel. The fact they aren't even willing to give him heads up to prepare for the future is mad!
ОтветитьS1 ESH. "I was on board with screwing over the recruiter because I got paid more." Then you didn't try to get OSHA violations fixed, you just documented them as a revenge pile.
ОтветитьSheriff deputies are usually county law enforcement. Police usually refer to city or town police.
ОтветитьS1: I love listening to mark try to pronounce US acronyms.
s3: She should have pressed charges. Her niece is never going to learn how to be a decent human with a POS mom like that. It would do her sister good to get some consequences.
The guy who works for the Sheriff Department is a deputy or Sheriff's deputy.
ОтветитьStory 2. What a little narc brat. This is a grown woman's engagement ring! They cost money!!! Dumbass sister could have gotten sued! Sister has red flags for narcissism, and the daughter is gonna grow up a narc too. The niece was 6! NO MEANS NO!
The sister is a selfish, straight up NARC.
Ring story : Not at all TA, but your sister is. Smell children are notorious for losing valuable items and your sister has shown that she has no respect at all for your possessions. Does she realise that, if she had lost that ring when she stole it, you would have had to make a police report against her to claim insurance, or she would have had to have paid the full cost of a replacement? Make this absolutely clear to her when she is expecting you to overlook her theft. (Puts me in mind of when my 10 year old daughter's school telephoned me to say that she was walking round the playing field with a rather expensive looking ring hanging from her finger! No prizes for guessing what that was!)
ОтветитьStory 4. OP was a doormat. All that drama, when he should have had a flight attendant just remove the ciminally minded, entitled, selfish narc from his seat. You never give in to narcs, because you enable their entitled, selfish, criminal behavior. That narc still got to keep OP's seat. The narc will do it again. I cant stand doormat enablers - they always empower a malignant narc to hurt others.
ОтветитьAs a former WHS (the Australian OSHA) officer for my company OP1 is my hero - respecting workplace health and safety, looking after employees' wellbeing, caring about people with disabilities, and taking revenge on a b-tch all at once? Okay icon, I bow to you.
ОтветитьThanks Mark!
ОтветитьThese two last stories are so annoying. Story 2: we get it, you’re a narc who loves pigs. Story 3. Saving 3 lives seems worth it. It’s so hard to get siblings adopted. I’d give up thousands of dollars to ensure 3 souls are taken care of.
ОтветитьI love the instant karma in the last story!
ОтветитьStory 2 - OP understands well enough about kids, that they shouldn't be trusted with a very expensive, very personal piece of jewelry. Sister doesn't understand that what she did was theft, which could be at felony levels if the ring is expensive enough. 🤦♀
ОтветитьIs it me or are all of these old stories? Did I miss something? Mark on vacation?
ОтветитьAny company who flagrantly violates osha standards does not deserve to be in business
ОтветитьStory 3: OP is not the A-hole. If it were me I'd have stormed in there and let them know if they touched a dime of my money for this adoption or anything else they would lose me forever and be sued as soon as I turned 18. I'd also let them know the next 3 years would be hell for them and those kids. I'm vindictive like that. Good luck getting approved for the adoption.
ОтветитьSo something to note about the credit card story. Its actually very easy to obtain credit card details over the deep web, and really only costs pennies. The real issue is not getting caught using them. The cost of laundering money from a CC is often impeded by the effort it takes to withdraw money without being identified, and CCs of course have limits that mean one will only ever be able to take put a few thousand cash at most. And if you don't take it out in cash well...I think ops story summed up pretty well why you don't just go around using cards willy nilly. Its clownishly easy to get caught. That's probably why the cops showed up so quickly. It's a fairly easy arrest that makes them look good.
ОтветитьS2: NTA - Sister is the AH. All the comments about this were right on.
ОтветитьStory of adoption: OP should get a lawyer. I know it's a long shot, but in most states money earned by minors is protected from parents scavenging them. The laws were passed after Jackie Coogan got screwed by his parents.
ОтветитьIm glad op didnt go in there cuz wtf wud he walk into
ОтветитьStory 3 is giving "Get rid of the older dog to make room for puppies." Like if you're stealing from your oldest child for ANY reason, you don't need more kids.
Ответить❤❤❤
ОтветитьS3: that’s OP’s money. HE earned it, not them.
ОтветитьNTA: Not only would I not allow my sister in my house when I wasn't there, I wouldn't allow her in my house period. And she'd better be thankful I didn't call the cops and have her arrested for theft, which depending on the value of the ring could be a felony / indictable offense.
The niece needs to learn that no means no, but for that to happen I think the sister first needs to learn it.
You have the internet, look up family law lawyers in your area, call them. Arrange for an initial consultation(s), they will not charge you for this. Layout the whole story for them, they will advise you on your next steps. Follow them. There is a good chance they will help you pro-bono (for no charge) or be able to refer you to a lawyer who can. Your parents are supposed to be protecting your money, they have a fiduciary duty to do so. Their spending your money without your permission is Financial Abuse, and is actionable.
Your lawyer can help you get your money and hold it in a trust (out of reach of your parents) until you're 18.
You need to do this, your parents are discussing STEALING $250,000 from you!
If there's a forklift you will see people lifted on those things. I just watch with my phone ready each time thinking "if they'd just fix the scissor lift this wouldn't be an issue."
ОтветитьStory 3: on top of talking to a lawyer/trustee, Kid should go to the Parents and say "I've recently heard stories about the parents of tv children spending all of the kids' money without them knowing and it's really shaken me up. it would really help me to feel better, and also help me learn to be responsible for my finances in the future, if I received monthly statements about my earnings."
ОтветитьBetter business bureau, all my fellow Americans, remember this organization and if you know a shady business contact them
ОтветитьStory two: not often “boy that escalated quickly” story is in a positive way. Didn’t expect crystal meth to be involved in a simple credit card theft story but hey I love being surprised. Also, sooo Chinese mafia?
