you might be able to put a small coil spring in. the mosin nagant also has a floppy trigger and this is a good remedy

Hi George. Glad to hear you are alright. We didn't have any damage from hurricane Helene, just a lot of rain and wind. Now that you've shown details of the Timney trigger I wonder if I can modify the factory trigger and sear myself to add a spring? This would be an interesting gunsmithing exercise. I've already modified the hammers on my Marlins to get a crisper and lighter trigger pull. I think I'll look into this project and if it works, maybe I'll write an article for my web site. Cheers.
