The competition made them do it. They'll do this until they kill the Australian rival and then shut it down. Mark my words
ОтветитьStrange how the segment started off with absolute denial of the competition compelling them to make this move....C'mon man!
ОтветитьWill Feld, MXSports, and the AMA make WSX the USFL of moto? The idea that this came along completely organically and WSX/FIM have no bearing on this decision is laughable. They would not come together unless they felt it was necessary to protect their interests and that goes for the US divisions of the manufacturers, as well. They could have their budgets trimmed if the US series loses prestige. The best part is the riders seem to be more of a priority now more than ever and some new money is flowing into their hands from the AMA and WSX.
ОтветитьOf course now they acting like they were making a new series anyway and not in response to world supercross lol yeah right, it's not cool that you were forced to open those purse strings this absolutely wasn't voluntary
ОтветитьI say f-ck globalism. MX was better when it was smaller.
ОтветитьOf course they'd say that it's not a reaction to competing entities. 🙄
ОтветитьThe world is changing. And they had no choice if they want to keep up.
ОтветитьSo are the 3 races gonna be supercross races or outdoor races ??
ОтветитьLol there is no question it was a response to WSX, there's no way in hell Feld innovate without being pushed by WSX.
ОтветитьI don’t know why everyone is so bitter. This is awesome! MXSports and Feld coming together SAVES PRO MOTOCROSS!! The prize purse makes going to race WSX for the money redundant. Supercross’ excellent tv coverage now expands to cover moto as a part of one deal. Like the Kawi exec. said, it’s crazy that it took until now for American dirt bike racing to come together under one banner. I have high hopes!
ОтветитьBlah, blah, blah. Cash grab is it is all.
ОтветитьFeld and MX sports are trying their hardest to kill this sport they finally had competition and their answer to it was to stress riders and teams out even more with more races.
ОтветитьI can't wait for this!!
ОтветитьAmericans and calling whatever local thing a World Championship - Name a more iconic duo, I'll wait...
ОтветитьI'm always down for more purse money and more competitive racing............
Ответитьwhatever they need to do to get out of f-ing football stadiums. It has been the achilles heal for a 450 since yamaha perfected the medium bore motorcycle. now just get nbc feld out of the sport.
ОтветитьThis is strange and unneeded. Supercross will always be supercross and outdoors will always be outside. These extra races will be fun to watch, but nobody will really respect the extra title or care who is a "supermotocross" winner, obviously
ОтветитьIm cool with it...if I can actually watch the races on a consistent, quality platform. Im pretty bitter over the Mavtv debacle.
ОтветитьNO no no no. its getting worse. bring back 20 lap mains in sx. this is not good, all the 2 stroke guys are going to have a stroke. if it ant broke dont fix it cunts.
ОтветитьWhy is it called World Championship when it's just a merger of two national series???
ОтветитьFeld and MX Sports are rooning MUH SPORT!!!
I don't like change, change is scary, new, and hard to learn.
"You know me Marge, I like my beer cold, my tv loud, and my motocross series unchanged for decades"
When all riders are healthy the field is so stacked I feel there is room for all 4 championships to work together 😬
ОтветитьI wish redbull would offer to buy the series. Feld has so much interest in their bottom line that they can’t innovate and grow the sport organically. Shitty organization.
ОтветитьWho came up with that name? Fire them.
ОтветитьOG here, i was 10 years old living in Socal in 1970, ... Super Motocross??? you Super morons!
ОтветитьWhy are y'all acting like this is a scoop Chris Cooksey reported this over a week ago! I agree with others this would not be happening , especially the big purses if not for the start of World Supercross . and how are they calling it a world championship if they do not race outside the U.S. ?
ОтветитьThis sounded more like a marketing video than news. Can't imagine why.....🐒🦨
ОтветитьSo basically a 3 round monster energy cup with more prize money!
AMA sanction world title with all 3 rounds in the US?
That’s not a world title…
Feeling a little threatened by WSX maybe?
Don’t get me wrong, anything to promote and grow the sport is awesome!
But all the rounds are in the US so what’s the difference?
To grow the sport you need to target a different demographic and take it to places that have never seen SX like the Middle East and Asia you know actually take it around the world like a true world championship..
I bet this makes ET3's decision not to race outdoors in 2023 a lot harder, $10mill is a game changer!!!
ОтветитьLook for more pro to come out of retirement
ОтветитьIt’s hilarious how entitled Americans have become! O my lord one out door season has had some issues with tv coverage/streaming. I remember when we couldn’t watch any of these races live and there was no such thing as streaming 🤷🏼♂️ I’ve watched every round this season, yes it hasn’t been ideal but absolutely doable, all I’m really saying is try being thankful for what we have instead of trying to find any little thing to bitch about!!
ОтветитьAmazing! So do we want to talk about where this money came from or are we just going to be quiet about the money supercross is actually making and not giving their athletes
Fixed* lol
davey coombs needs to keep mx 12 rounds at all costs! this is a tipping point for the core! rotate the first round annually if needed. nobody is all out first round anyway so a new track if needed is refreshing. someone will step up permanent! give tx the earlier year round they desperately want!
ОтветитьThis sounds great and looks like a great concept, I’d still like to have seen a Grand National Championship where combined points of SX and MX crowns an overall GNC like it did back on 83/84/85 when Bailey won it, with a 1 a million (insert Doctor Evil) bonus to the overall winner, of the premier class, there could be a 500k bonus to the 250 champion, this would also encourage a greater competitive spirit for both SX and MX as well as help generate interest from outside sponsors, z I always thought it was a massive mistake dropping that concept, as clearly stated here by Roger D and JW the AMA and promoters vs the industry have always been at odds, but now this combined with a Super MX series at the end would take the sport to a new level.
I also believe it’s poor form to think that this could only ever be a BSport, this should have reached A status by the 2000s and if you consider the 80s with the sponsors like Wrangler and other huge brands opportunities we’re squandered and basically raped, air should and could be an A Sport. It’s just been poorly managed, X Games came from now where, because it was well marketed and managed not because it was just accessible, the excuses the industry makes or execs makes is just poor skill poor execution and poor or lack of ability for parties to work together for bigger slice of the pie for the benefit of the sport, as always GET THE FCKN RESULTS, the money, the prestige take care of themselves. It’s not rocket science and any sales person, ethical company worth a dam knows this! Good luck and looking forward to 2023 but go one step more add a Grand National Champion for overall points of both series, # Blue plate in both class’s, with the SMX on top of that, would be epic and unlike any other Motorsport series on the planet, be different, be unique, be original.. think big, aim big, isn’t that another mantra from the sales, company and management success guide to the galaxy……🤘
Sooooo what happens with team USA for des nations for 2023 and onward
ОтветитьA 10 milli purse still only benefits the winners, who are already balling. They should be using those millions to buffer the privateers who constantly turn up and make the numbers up for us viewers past P10 etc
ОтветитьAMA and Feld have conspired to take more money from the fans.
ОтветитьThe riders need three whole months off their bikes to revive their appetite to ride again !!!
ОтветитьHow will the 3 round playoff work?
Ответитьis this going to be on MavTV..?
ОтветитьNo reason to separate classes.. some of the 250 guys do faster laps of top 450 dudes.
Ummm silly boy or girl or whatever yall are
What a crock of shit .this is all about greed from Feld ..calling it a world championship when all the races are in good ol USA
There are people that live in other parts of the world who would like to see the best riders in the world so my money will be going to global WSX
....a true world championship
I hope this means longer supercross tracks with more speed. Cota should be a good place to try that.
ОтветитьAs good as this sounds, I wonder how many riders will make these SMX rounds healthy, also this stretches racing all the way through september leaving very little time to get ready for A1. Also, as if racing MXoN wasn't already a tall order for team USA, forget about any hopes of even.having a B rider line-up for that event. And finally, that whole only-eligible-riders system rather than preventing US based riders from racing SX FIM will only set all those A-level riders fresh off recovery like KR, Ferrandis, AC, Mookie all free to go race over there cause they're not ranked on OA points for missing rounds or doing SX only. That unless you give those a free pass or something, however that would't be fare for the rest of them.
I think they could do a manufacures mini serial instead with it, using the MXoN point system and 3-moto format, that would be sick! no factory rider leaving US soil for sure.
Thank you guys, and NEVER EVER VOTE DEMOCRAT!
ОтветитьI'm fine as long as I don't have to chase it around the channels and wait till midnight to see the last Motos.
Oh...and as long as it's as free as bowling.
Dungey said”everyone in MX is afraid of me but Reed took it one step further”don’t quote me on that. 22 let’s goo
