I have a friend of mine, who lives in KwaZulu-Natal South Africa, his Father has taxis and was about to be appointed the leader of taxi association in his region. So he was voted as the first guy amongst others, unfortunately the other guys also wanted the position and assassinators were sent to his house couple of times to kill him, what is worse my friend once left the home to go to supermarket and he came across those guys and they pointed gun at him as a warning to his father. My friend never came out from his house since then and he was even forced to take gap year while he was studying at University due to the scandal, he lost weight, he was depressed 😔, but by the grace of God now he's back and his family is safe now.... South African Taxi association business is Very Dangerous

As a South African everyone knows you don't mess around with taxi drivers . I remember this one time my friend almost got hit by a taxi and instead of the taxi driver to apologies he sweared at us. My friend sweared at him back . He started chasing us with a gun but luckily we got away without any damages

The taxi industry in South Africa have always been very powerful, even during Apartheid. When their Union says we are striking everything stops in the entire country, still today. Competition for taxi territory is fierce and likely driving the assassinations, they also kill a lot of people on the roads in one long Easter weekend they can kill over 1000 people in just that weekend with accidents caused by swerving across multiple lanes to drop or pick up passengers, they stop wherever they want , no one tells them where they can stop or how to drive, they also overtake long lines of slower vehicles then squeeze in at the last second with an oncoming truck bearing down on them, no fear.
