They guys that installed carpet in one of my bedrooms only used knee kickers. The carpet had ripples in less than a year. I rented a carpet stretcher and knee kicker earlier this week. I was able to re-stretch it and get the ripples out.

The only real way to STRETCH carpet is to use a power stretch. This is barely doing anything. In a couple of years past the warranty there will be wrinkles everywhere.

I've installed for 40 yrs. Iv used a kneeless power stretcher and full size. Now i just follow behind guys with knee kickers and do restretch work. His method is not warrantied by the manufacturer for a reason!

Them kind of kickers are worthless for stretching rooms. The taylor knee stretcher is much better it's like 200 bucks

I been installing for 45 yrs and if you stretch carpet with a carpet kicker I'll be coming in right behind you with a power stretcher because it won't hold an wrinkles will come back. I don't ever,ever use a kicker except for setting carpet,hallways ,stairs,or closets.
