Nintendo had better games.
Guess which one the kiddies flocked to?

I like both the same way, but I bought an SNES just because I counted and it has more games I like. (this was more or less in 2019/2020, but I think 2019)




If there's a game that I consider equal in both platforms it's Pac-Attack btw, especially the soundtrack because they're both bops

Lol sega outsold snes 2 to 1 in 1992 etc then had 65% market share in 1994 when 16 bit war was over and before ps1 32bit dominated. Google it. Nintendo even lied about sales numbers and admitted it in game over book.

I had been way too hyped for the release of the Super NES to be swayed by this commercial in 1991, but the very next year in October of ‘92, I stole $50 out of the purse of a high school friend of my mother’s to buy a Sega Genesis. Hopefully Sonic is just as fun when played in Hell, cuz that is where I’ll be playing it for eternity.

Funny enough, Super Mario World is objectively a better game. Sonic 1 has its foot in history, but do you really ever go back and play it compared to 2 or 3? Yeah, it cost less, but you can save and get a better game.

I love Super Mario World, but oh man, the pricing is too high. My parents are Mexican with not that much money so if I was in the 90’s, I gotta go with the Sega Genesis with Sonic The Hedgehog. $149 for a console during the beginning of the 16 bit era of gaming is not a bad deal.

Of ALL the stages, Marble Zone? That thing is a SLOG to get through!

now imagine if say there was a paramount plus ad that essentially referenced this ad and the salesman was trying to convince the customer to get peacock which is showing clips from the illumination mario movie but the customer is more interested on the tv to the right which had paramount plus and was showing clips from the sonic movie trilogy

I wish gaming companies would compete like they did in the past. Gaming today is just an endless parade of remakes and sequels. The 90s were the best.

34 years later in the era of Mario Kart World and Sonic Crossworlds, this ad still holds up.

Part of me wishes Sega was still making consoles so they can roast Nintendo for their Switch 2 prices kind of like what they did back then.

This is kind of modern/current, It's because even though Sega doesn't make consoles anymore, you can still play any Sega game anywhere,
