Empowering Pacific Families through PREKURE Health Coach Training

Pacific Islanders in Aotearoa New Zealand, experience mental distress nearly twice the rate of the general population. Barriers like limited healthcare access, education and housing challenges make it even harder to get the help they need.

That’s why PREKURE partnered with the Pasifika Medical Association to create a Health Coach training program rooted in Pacific values—honouring Pacific ways of knowing, doing, and being. The goal? To equip healthcare workers like Tapaanga, Jason, and Maria with advanced health coaching and mental health tools to empower their communities.
