New peruvian historians interpret the story slightly differently. Atahualpa didn't care much about the spaniards, that were obviously terrified of the huge army that was outside Cajamarca. Apparently Atahualpa just walked into the square surrounded only by dancers and musicians, Pizarro took him captive, but Atahualpa did not seem to be particularly worri8ed.
Atahualpa while captive, allied Pizarro, marriying him to his sister, and gave orders to execute Huascar in Cuzco. That change of power made Pizarro kill Atahualpa, as he understood they had no chance against a unified empire. The rest of the story is an extremely complex tale of alliances and civil wars between different peruvian factions, with some of the spaniards that had started a war between them as well. Better than game of thrones

Los españoles eran la primera potencia mundial de esa época, tenian buenos barcos, armas modernas y acababan de terminar la reconquista de España, después de 800 años de dominacion musulmana. Eran muy valientes y muy cristianos. Todas las grandes potencias invaden.

Kings and Generals need to do more episodes not tied to Europea or European conquest. There was a whole world before and alongside European history. Most of the great civilizations preceded Europe including Swahili coast, India, China, Mongolia, Mississippian Culture, etc.

"What gets me is the people of central and south america are to this day Catholics. When asked about their history, they glorify Spain and look down on their pagan pre-Christian history and praise Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church. Many of them are even in the cartels and some cartels have Catholic related names like Los Templarios "The Templars". How could you believe in a religion that was forced on your ancestors by the sword?"

Great to see an english video that describes the conquest expeditions to america as what they were, private expeditions. The emperors' armies were at that time involved in dozens of european wars with literally everyone (including the Pope) and with the main enemy, the otoman empire, so they never were really directly participating in the conquest.

Hi, a few notes:

• Huayna Capac already knew of the presence of strange looking man on the shores of his empire, and Atahualpa knew as well. In 1532 he let them in the empire by their request, thats why they could get to Cajamarca with no resistance. Atahualpa wanted to meet them so to benefit of the new technology he knew they had.

• The plaza at Cajamarca was not squared, it was triangular. And Atahualpa entered it with dancers and artists only.

• Father Valverde had a breviary not a blible.

Greetings.

Charles' forces are good actors. Their so-called "emperor" did not posess the same amount of bravery and enthusiasm, when Suleiman sent him letters to confront him. A second fiddle through and through. At least he accepted it, when he was paying tributes to the Sublime Porte :D
Raping in the name of God? Suits the catholic faith so well
