An obvious comment; the original founders and creators of Bluegrass did not attend a "formal" college to learn to play the music.

Way back in the good old day of the late 60s-70s we were told that college wasn't about what you learned but learning how to learn. I never expected to make a living in Social Science but learning how to learn Social Science helped me make the jump to Chemical Dependency Counseling. So some will become professional musicians and many will not but they will learn how to learn what ever path they end up taking in life. Then maybe once in a generation you get a Ansley and Lincoln and Berklee gets a Molly and Sierra.
