In full agreement with you Dr Berry. Been trying to tell my family forever. Haven't drunk milk since I was 2. Im 59. I told them, humans are the only "critter" to drink milk past infancy. Good gracious...Adult cows MAKE milk, but do not drink it. They eat their greens. Not a Dr or RN. A retired CNA, with a little common sense. Loving your videos.

Can you please speak to a study that linked fosamax to ‘glass bones’ which appeared more dense but actually reduced bone autophagy and growth of new bone making them like glass and more prone to osteoporosis and fracture!!!! I dont know where i read it! It was alarming and thst is how i began to understand the difference between bone strength and bone density…started weight baring exercise and walking/sprinting and no more calcium supplements which i also later read mess up tie acidity in the stomach neutralizing that very necessary high acid balance and affecting ones digestive tract! I learned acidity in the stomach is very necessary for digestion and when we also ‘treat indigestion again with an antacid (check the labels folks it calcium citrate!!) we are prolonging and making indigestion, heart burn and more worse!!!!

Thank you for your channel. Im turning 69 and have been eating keto and with a lot of red meat, fish and pork etc, now since 2018…. So far better than just good. ❤

what about people with pounding heart and/or high pulse rate??? what good is strong bones if we're not getting calcium for the contraction of the heart??? Please advise??? Where is our calcium supposed to come from? Will the body take it out of the arteries and help the fast heart rate?? Also , beware, Keto Chow has 750 mg. Calcium per serving,

I believe there's a lot of Truth in this. I have always said that the only thing that should be drinking cow's milk or baby cows that we were never meant to consume cow milk in the first place. Also my mother has preached about taking calcium in my entire life and she takes it religiously and drinks tons of milk and she just got out of the hospital for the second time with kidney stones this time she ended up being septic and almost died. I don't think it was a coincidence that I stumbled across this video and now I believe that all her years of drinking tons of milk and taking calcium religiously contributed to her kidney stones

Good to know. And I have had a kidney stone...they are right, it was VERY painful. Ironically though, mine went from my kidney to my bladder, and I went to the doc about it and he said to NOT drink any dark colas. Drink citrus. Lemon or Orange juice. He told me to come back in a week and they will use lasers to break it up. I did that and when they looked for it, it was GONE. I don't drink milk much anymore.

I have read claims that if you do take calcium supplements to take vitamin D3 and vitamin MK 7 as mk7 is called a "traffic controller" that directs the calcium to your bones. I studied this for 2 weeks and all info on the internet says the same thing but, be sure you also use Vitamin D3 . So, what's the real truth.? I do agree on weight bearing exercises for sure .

A few years ago, I learned from a video, the importance of vitamin K (MK7) as a way to prevent calcium from depositing in the blood vessels. No doctor ever told me to take vitamin K nor ever warned me that calcium supplements could cause harmful deposits in my arteries and kidneys, but they certainly recommended I take calcium for osteopenia. Nobody prescribed exercise, either, but I was a runner at the time. Well, I have now progressed to osteoporosis and refuse to take bisphosphonates. I will toss my brand-new bottle of Citracal in the trash, continue taking the MK7, D3, magnesium and possibly add potassium to the mix, as well as do impact and weight bearing exercise in addition to my regular cardio workouts. Thank goodness a CT Calcium Scoring test last year scored 0. If not for that MK7 video, I wonder...

This logic makes no sense. Other mammals don’t drink milk as adults because it isn’t available to them. They don’t drink alcohol either! By same logic other mammals also don’t take Vitamin D supplements either! Forget milk, what about calcium rich foods? Are you saying we shouldn’t be eating those either? Where would we get calcium from?

While I am not saying that calcium supplements aren’t causing harm you don’t mention specific calcium supplements. What about Calcium lactate which seems to be easily converted and absorbed?

Dr Berry, 4 yrs ago I had to have 3 and a half parathyroid removed. I had Osteopenia and after surgery - low blood calcium ever since. My endocrinologist has me taking 1200 mg of plant based calcium with D3 and Kt & Magnesium daily. Last bone scan this year showed no more osteopenia, my nails no longer split. Blood Calcium normal. My only problem - my blood pressure has gone up. Averaging 140's / 90's with same BP medication. It did not occur to me that this could be related to the calcium supplement. Will talk to my doctor. Thank you.

I think the most important thing for any older adult is Hormones. For men testosterone and strength training, for women bio identical estrogen, progesterone and testosterone injections. I am 67. I started bioidentical Hormones in my early 50s after reading Dr Wiley books, Suzanne somers books, Oprah did research, Robin McGraw. California is ahead of other states in this. Immediately I felt better. I don't have heart issues other than hypertension which runs in my family. Cholesterol good, no diabetes. Yes I do drink milk because I enjoy it. Whether it's important or not. One glass of milk won't kill me. Cheese won't kill me. If we listened to everyone's opinion we would be starving. All the u tube Dr's never mention the importance of hormones and how crucial they are to our bodies. That's it. Jillian ( Registered Nurse)
