I’m having hernia repair next week. I don’t worry about these things to much. Humans tend to fall apart. I got this, because God got this!! ❤❤❤❤

i remember a true story someone who took pictures about a male amature weight lifter who lifted weights too big for himself and about 25% of his entire stomach case ripped out of his A$$h0le tearing thru his uniform. his organs didnt spill onto the floor because of the casing still holding everything together. thats the worse hernia ive ever seen.

IF YOU HAVE ONE
I WILL RECOMMEND YOU TO GET SURGERY RIGHT AWAY CUZ IF YOU LET IT THERE TOO LONG IT WILL GET BIG MORE DANGEROUS AND EXPENSIVE.

I JUST GOT MY SERGERY 3 WEEKS AGO
HUMBILICAL HERNIA
THEY DID EXACTLY WHAT THE VIDEO SHOWS.

I GOT MINE WHILE I WAS WORKING .I REPORT IT
3 WEEKS LATER I GOT THE SURGERY, NOW GOING BACK TO WORK ON LIGHT DUTY NEXT WEEK
CERO PONDS
LIFTING,PULLING OR PUSHING
FOR 3 MONTHS
OR MAYBE MORE IT JUST DEPENDS WHAT THE SURGEON SAY .BUT HE SAID ABOUT 3 MONTHS FULL RECOVERY TO START WORKING NORMALLY .

If you catch it early enough, you can massage it back into place. I also had to do some backwards stretching over an air ball. You will have to repeat for some time. I could feel it popping back through the muscle tissue. Eventually it’ll stop happening if you also refrain from the activity that caused it for a while.

This is a too simplistic explination of the procedure geared for people who do not research the risks and benifits of surgery and do whatever their doctor tells them. Here, I have a new statin medication for you. Sucker........

Tips and information for recovering from Hernia Surgery if you live alone.

These are things you should do before you leave the house to go for surgery.

Cook and prepare a week’s worth of meals and snacks before surgery. Meals that will be easy to pass through your digestive system. Things like vegetable soup with beans, carrots, celery…, oatmeal with prunes, egg salad, chicken salad, steamed carrots and broccoli, asparagus… low fat and low grease type foods. Snacks like apples, oranges, ripe bananas, all kinds of fruits are good to keep things moving.

Start taking a stool softener one or two days before surgery and then continue taking it when you get home.

Place something next to your toilet you can grab onto to help you get on and off the toilet. Do the same for your bed and other areas you may sit.

Have toothpaste, toothbrush, and floss out and ready to use. A glass of water to rinse your mouth out. You’re not going to be able to bend over to cup water in your hands.

If you don’t already have a grabber, get one.

Do not take your phone to surgery. Leave your phone at home on your nightstand and fully charged.

Have on hand at least two ice packs that you can wrap a clean cloth around to put over the location of surgery and rotate them from the freezer as needed. This will keep the swelling down.

Read your after surgery instructions and follow them. Listen to your doctor and follow his/her orders. Keep the wound area clean and clean it with an antibacterial soap every morning and again before you go to bed at night.

The next day get up and walk but be careful. I walked outside around the cul-de-sac four times a day starting the day right after surgery. Twice in the morning, once in the afternoon, and then again in the evening.

Have clean sheets on your bed.

Wear loose fitting clothes.

Have plenty of water and Gatorade on hand and before you leave for surgery place a few bottles on your nightstand, computer desk, kitchen table, kitchen counters, your television chair, and in your refrigerator. Drink plenty of liquids. At least four bottles per day.

Take pain medication as needed but don’t over do it. All pain medications can cause constipation.

A thermometer on your nightstand.

A list of movies you may want to watch.

I can’t sugarcoat this for you. The first three days are going to be tough so be ready. It gets easier on your fourth day.

Good luck and I hope this helps.

I am really scared for my dad, he is currently high on diabetes and has to perform hernia surgery he is also very lean,,, but doctors said he has to wait till his diabetes becomes low and he is old. Every day I feel bad for the old man. We still love him 😢😢😢and I don't even know when his diabetes will become low.
The question is, even if he becomes low on diabetes should he proceed with the hernia surgery???

I've had a lump near my belly button for months and I know it's this because I can push it back in, but if I cough while my fingertips are over it, I can feel the "sludge" (or whatever is in my abdomen tubes) push back out and form the lump again. Makes me cringe feeling it coughing, but at least this is all it is. I want to get an operation but keep reading that a hernia is not a dangerous thing to have unless it becomes strangulated, which mine isn't. I am quite overweight though and wonder how big this lump would be if so much fat wasn't covering it. I'm 5ft 9in and 190lbs and when I had a 6-pack I was 155lbs (Male).

Dear Johns Hopkins Medicine,
I have a terminology related question. If inguinal hernia appears only on one side of the body it is called unilateral inguinal hernia, if on both sides it is bilateral inguinal hernia. If a patient has unilateral inguinal hernia, but before the surgery the ultrasound examination discovers the presence of asymptomatic contralateral inguinal hernia, is the correct diagnosis still unilateral inguinal hernia, or it changes to bilateral inguinal hernia?
Thanks!

Just got back from an inguinal hernia laproscopic operation. The bulge ( sac) was directly next to my testicle, but they did all the incisions 4 or 5 inches above, and didn't appear to touch the area where the sac was. Is it possible they were able to move the sac upward, or were they able to cut open and remove the sac from above? The surgeon is an expert in this field and did my other hernia decades ago. I was just puzzled that what I thought was the problem area wasn't touched. Or maybe it WAS, but from above

Dear Johns Hopkins Medicine,
Can you provide information about the optimal/average number/amount of personel, who is usually present during a problem free Lichtenstein hernia repair?
Like 1 surgeon + 1 anesthetist + 1 assistant is sufficient? Maybe can you provide source of statistic about this? Thank you!

I had my surgery in the summer of 2016 and im still in pain:(. Not sure what to do apparently hard to find a good doctor around here. My pain started in 2014 spent 2 years going to docs in Michigan had embolization of a varicocele in 2015 was in more pain after that.Went to Turkey got an ultrasound and they saw i had a hernia. Had it repaired there but I live here in Michigan so I came back shortly after and here the doctors are telling me all kinds of stuff you need pelvic floor physical therapy, or you cant eat spicy foods and other things you might have something i forgot what its called but it has prostate in the name I think. I may have that but im not sure that its cause the symptoms I'm complaining about and I'm being affected by the most.
