Brass balls work better for not contaminating your mix. Black powder guys have learned lead balls dirty the powder a lot.

Any tests on only battery MnO2 and Al, after finding the right ratios at the end?

Try lining the tube with the zinc. It'll boil and give more thrust.

Have you ever watched the "Elemental Makers" video on thermite fuse? I think he used silicone, potassium permanganate, and sulfur?

Amazing work! to find the right proportions for everything and make it work should have felt glorious, I'd love to see a comparison of this version of a rocket with a KNO3 one, keep up the good work, love your videos <3

Bro walked so we can run. All my respect points, have them

Can we just rinse the NH4Cl from the battery mud to get pure MnO2?

I have an idea that may help get just that little bit more maybe have a weak hair dryer or a USB heater to keep Ur mix extra dry or a safer option is to invent a two chamber ball mixer that can have salt that urv dryed in the oven can still be warm or if U want to store it dry just use thread tape on the top of the jar and just have a not air tight container for the mix that fits inside Ur salt storage jar those 1 gallon 4.8liter jar of pickles is always a good start I use that jar for making my home brew spirits

It's super awesome to see you experimenting like this. Just for the record tho, generally speaking its not advisable to use pvc for engine casings tho due to potential shrapnel hazards. I'm sure you know this, but I feel like its worth mentioning. I will be checking out your other videos.

That's a lot of heat that could be put to work too. Just need to pick a compatible compound which will decompose to gases. As it is, you've mostly just CO2 and liquid thermite products.
Very interesting concept, thanks for sharing!

Excellent job! Are you just experimenting with the idea of manganese for fuel as apposed to using other chemicals like potassium chlorate which is a lot easier and more controllable? Very good video though and most interesting to me. I tried manganese dioxide pure form years ago and no matter what I tried I could not get it to work at all. :)

Copper oxide/aluminum thermite burns very fast...often needs to be 'cooled off' or it just explodes!
A small amount of a carbon-based binder moderates the burn-rate...corn starch or powdered sugar.
I had some luck using Silicone sealant as a binder/moderator...makes the flame a bright blue!

I thoroughly enjoyed your video right up until the end, when you used the Challenger accident for some unknown reason. I watched it on live television with twenty other people in the student union at ISU. Before the launch, the astronauts were considered heroes, and everyone admired Sally Ride. But we saw them die, and none of us ever wanted to see that again. Even so, everyone -- seriously, the whole country -- immersed themselves in the graphic reports that NASA released during its investigation. Everyone was shocked by the incompetence and corruption they uncovered. Never use that video again, and when you figure out why, you'll be a better person.

You are packing mixed powders.. how can you drill into that? At what point does it adhere together enough to maintain a central hole?
