This really is a lot of fun; stellar animation mixing stop motion with CGI, addictive music, some funny writing
I'll admit I was laughing so hard at so many of the jokes because there're so meta jabbing at the various properties from this toy set
Even by the end when the twist is revealed it makes you rethink everything about the brand
The creators also insert a simple message of being our own kind of special, we don't have to have something extraordinary to be extraordinary, we can leave our own comfort zone, not everything has to be in order, not all ideas are useless, we don't all have to be just a face in the crowd being looked down upon, we can be inspired by other people to make things, creating debates of anti-capitalism vs anti-communism There's also many underlying tones of liberty and personal freedom and intermixing genres LEGO Movie from the surface embodied all the cynical qualities of Hollywood adapting IP brands yet is a triumph having a child's inner creativity playing with the imagination of growing up playing with these toy pieces
Plus it offers a hilarious send up of American consumerism, individualism, and celebration the power of imagination

All rhe Lego movies made me laugh, through multiple viewings. And that's good enough.

Lego is one of the best toys ever designed.
