I been a mover for 12 years just got my first truck and got offered a contract for 56% and 70 percent of packing not having to pay for packing does this sound good? Also I don’t know if it’s 56 of 100% or 56 percent of whatever they say
ОтветитьAlex, I’ve been a truck driver for seven years and before I was a truck driver I did move for a few years. And I’m doing it right now for a really small company. What company do you recommend if I don’t own my own truck to start with.
ОтветитьGreat video man! all this time I had no idea you were a fellow mover! I moved furniture from 2013 to 2019 then got my cdl 2020 and haven't done it since. I miss it though and been wanting to get back into it! I'm looking to purchase my own truck soon and start hauling for one of these van lines. so my question is, having my own truck, will i be leased on to the van line using their MC and dot numbers? How do you find lumpers to help load/unload? how often were you home? Thanks
Ответить$100000 moving trucks from american north to barsha south tour drive
ОтветитьI’m 16 and make 65k a year for being a swamper
ОтветитьDoes the driver have to pack and load the trailers? Or do they have a company that comes out and help load everything
ОтветитьYo I worked for colonial van lines otr in str8 truck I did good but my last 3 weeks I had a negative settlement then made 0 so I worked free 3 weeks straight then had to leave 😔
ОтветитьWell moving household furniture is NOT A EASY JOB. ITS A HARD LIFE. you have to inventory ALL PIECES OF FURNITURE real important. Take pictures of every damn thing. The customer will try to add claims against you and that money comes out of your settlement and they'll lie.
Very important to take pictures. You have to hire your labor. I tried this industry years ago thats how i know about the work.
My husband needs work so bad our kids are bearly making 😢 help
ОтветитьGreat video..
I love you and your wife ❤
You've helped me so much 👈🏿💯😘
Men I make 1900 a week gross 4days but I wanna make hella more😩 but my job so chill. Oregon to Arizona 4days team. I’m just scared with these moving company is based when people move
ОтветитьAwesome brother that is what I did.
ОтветитьAwesome brother that is what I did.
ОтветитьNorth american van lines to Lanarafat's house is vandalized🚚
ОтветитьWhat’s the best company to work for ?
ОтветитьI got a speeding ticket a week before a got my CDL class A . How badly you think this will affect me???
ОтветитьI started out as a co driver for a friend in town as a bed bugger for NAVL. At the end of the year we were Vanguard drivers. I believe that is what they called it. We were top 50 .
ОтветитьIn the picture putting a allied van lines box in your car is also a good extra
ОтветитьI’ve seen a atlas driver putting the front axle of a car on the cat scale for his loaded weight. Lots of extras I’m sure.
ОтветитьMy dad used to be a mover up til he was almost 50 yrs old. I’ve gone with him plenty of times years back. It’s not the worst thing I’ve gotten $100 tips before
ОтветитьI have been in business for 30 plus years. u need experience in moving first and foremost. once you have accomplished that your golden. now with helpers, thats a whole different situation. you need to understand people, basically, how to read them. but all in all, the worst drivers still make over 100k
ОтветитьThis is good money, but is there a bunch of time in between loads
ОтветитьAre you responsible for fuel, maintenance, and insurance while under lease agreement?
ОтветитьThanks bro
ОтветитьNo chance in hell u had a trip offer fir 50,000 dollars, I’ve been doing this fir 27 years, I’ve never been offered anything like 50,000 dollars, nor have I ever heard of a 50,000 dollar trip.
ОтветитьSo you call a local moving company when you get in that town
ОтветитьHow do you hire to pack and move
ОтветитьI feel like doing stepdeck or flatbed averages out about the same ,,, I got a load for a friend Florida to Washington stepdeck paying 15k . Rates now are pretty good , hope it stays like this for couple years or more .
ОтветитьLove your channel,
I’ve been working as a mover for over a year and I make 13 dollars and hour plus tips for doing everything. Most moving company’s will pay their employees shit to do all the work. Now I’ve been thinking about starting my own company because my boss will take in like 80 percent of a 2000 dollar move for doing nothing.
My question is, Do you think you make more as a owner operator for local or otr drives, or from a moving company business
People have to know not to under estimate the know how, technique and skill of movers. I've seen these guys in action and they are good. N that's coming from a 16yr LTL Driver with FedEx Freight. Respect Asianmai.
ОтветитьHow do your helpers get paid and who pay them?
ОтветитьIm starting in a moving company next week, they pay me $24 hr and 35hr guarantee. I have no moving experience
Ответитьlol that bug landed on his lip hahha
ОтветитьDid moving for most of my 20s into my early 30s..have sciatica..and 3 vertebra are smashed.. my advice is stay away from moving...
ОтветитьI use to get 9000 to haul 22000lbs over 10 years ago rates are down big time.
Ответитьthis sounds good, my question how you do you unload that stuff because furniture can be heavy as hell do you hire a few laborers at a store or do you have another co-driver with you. I have back injury and while I can lift some weight aint no way i could pick a sofa up with my back or fridge I could when I was 18-25
ОтветитьIs roadrunner company leasing program with $0 down worth it ? Says they can make 200 a year solo
ОтветитьI enjoyed the in home moving except I had one helper on the truck. He was non CDL so I had to the driving, inventory, wrapping, packing, loading and unloading. So while he slept and rested. I drove. Wasn't much rest for myself. Good experience but you're right, wasn't easy.
ОтветитьI worked as a mover from '82 to '91. My first OTR job. It was good experience and great money. The downside was 6 to 8 weeks on the road and finding decent labor. I got use to loading and unloading.
Switched to being a city driver for a LTL carrier and would highly recommend it.
As a driver for NAVL I can say the numbers are real, and only the half of it. You have origin/dest fee's, fuel surcharges, shuttles, packing, unpacking. However the 9k we are looking at here is the LH/ this is before NAVL's cut, this is before his agents cut. However when you add in the xtra money from packing and the xtra's his take on it should be about $11k. Which makes it sound like a no brainer, yes please job. But the expenses, Hes looking at 3k to load, 1k to run, and 2k to unload. Which leaves him with $5k for a weeks worth of work. which still sounds nice, but he still needs to make his truck note, insurance and factor any repairs into that.
And before all you truck drivers think, yea I want that money. They dont call us bedbuggers for nothing. We are movers first and truck drivers second. Where a freight driver is going to push what 150,000 miles a year? a mover is going to be doing 80,000 miles a year. And while you might think, ohh that sounds nice dont have to work as much. Thats the exact opposite. Your doing 70+ hours every week. To which you might say, but your only allowed 70, so you cannot do more. Well you will, You will just not be logging all the load and unload times you have, which is allot of your time. So yes its more money then regular freight, but it is allot more work, Gota love those days when the agent shorts you a guy so your forced to run 3 flights of stairs with you and another guy.
And you need to be smart with your money. As it is somewhat seasonal. Well you can work year round, but during the slow months the rates are so bad your basically working to make your truck note. But getting that first $20k check during the summer makes it all worth it if you dont mind working your butt off.
Do you even pack and load? Show us a video how you actually work
ОтветитьIf I was younger, I would definitely do this moving thing Asian Mai is talking about. Did you see them tractors moving guys are driving. I know there's definitely a lot more money in moving furniture than pulling dry van or reefer.
ОтветитьHey man what’s up I been thinking about going o/o OTR I’m a heavy hauler lowboy driver running all over the state of Florida with oversized loads wanting a change I live in Okeechobee Florida what do recommend
ОтветитьI have been wondering for some time about this. I dont get much exercise and im tired of the endless driving. What if I just get my own truck and the labor can teach me? I cant afford 15 an hour and i do have some related experience.
ОтветитьI worked as a helper for 3 years with atlas, allied and bud van lines and its truly backbreaking. Now as a driver I totally understand why the drivers get paid so much, you gotta get your rig into residential places and drive roads trucks usually don't travel. If I wasn't on the east coast I'd definitely try to get into it.
ОтветитьHey man I work at a warehouse 80 hours a week Monday to Saturday making $1000 net a week, is it worth to become a truck driver? Iam 20
ОтветитьI live down the street from your agency in Rhode Island. Drive by it everyday. Be really cool to bump into you and talk trucking.
ОтветитьIts funny i was talking to mayflower today here in Ny & im thinking about driving for them thanks to you
ОтветитьCome to the Bay Area and we will fill your trailer up.
