Looks in good nick chaps, Dad had one from new (588NDT) and it started to rust after 2 weeks.
ОтветитьPukka little motor can't wait to see it when you get it running
ОтветитьThese were extremely good cars in their day,,,This looks like a very good car AND NO RUST WOW Good luck
ОтветитьHe obviously does love 'em. Mad!
ОтветитьYou can almost imagine an apprentice draughtsman/designer being asked to do a drawing of a Vauxhall car! whats betting he would draw a Viva!
ОтветитьMy first car, same year but mine suffered with terrible rust beetle, even same colour. (Can’t remember seeing many other colours). Not a big engine, 1057 cc I think but went like the proverbial off a shovel. Fond memories, good luck Chris, let’s see some of the refurb on the Chanel.
ОтветитьWe used to have ha vans in the fire service and they were great to drive ,I love em.
ОтветитьMy first ever car, thanks for the memories....
ОтветитьGreat video as usual
Who do you recommend for Geometry check?
EXCELLENT buy. This will be a beauty. CHEERS from AUSTRALIA
ОтветитьI had one the clutch went and i changed it in my lunch hour, so easy to work on i love them . well done Chris.
ОтветитьPlease keep it as matching numbers - that’s a real belter.
ОтветитьWhy dont you do more classic cars, they are much more interesting then modern boxes.
ОтветитьThat is what you call a proper car back in the day. My brother had 3 Of those cracking CAR you put petrol in it takes you to where you’re going. None of this charging crap what are cracking bye I think Chris done the most decent thing to pay the man 500 quid more well done buddy ❤️👍👍👍👏👏
Ответить🇬🇧🇬🇧👍👍👍👏👏😃😃
ОтветитьMy first car I drove (my mums car)1978
ОтветитьMy first car, AFN805B. I had it all through my student days in London and took it to the first Glastonbury Festival where I slept in it. Great car.
ОтветитьRob, your missus must be a marvel. White tee shirts for working in a garage? What her secret? Great Chanel keep up the good work and the banter (Waffle).
Ответить👌👌👍👍🙏🙏🇨🇮🇨🇮
ОтветитьIs there any update on the Viva?
ОтветитьWhat happened to this?🤔🤘👍
ОтветитьI had the big brother to this , the Victor 101 , i like this shape.
ОтветитьHi rob and Chris, great wee car how did you get on with the car, from marty in Belfast northern Ireland God bless
Ответитьmy first car in 1983 cost me 90 quid and it had a mot, used to go to Vauxhall in Luton to get spare parts, quite cheap at the time.Drove it into the ground, complete rust heap,it was crap then so it must be 10 times worse now.I laugh how they call these "classics",basicaly yesterdays out dated rubbish."Classic" example of why the British car industry went to the dogs.
ОтветитьGreat Find, looking forward to it's restoration
ОтветитьWow I love salvage rebuilds back catalogue & look at this a rare view of rob with a mucky face 😂 how times have changed 😂 only joking. Great channel & two wonderful guys doing an honest days graft ❤️it
Ответитьused to have one my self loved it
ОтветитьI learnt to drive this type of ha in my driving lessons,7/6 a time 35 p in todays money.
Loved it as they were easy to drive as an 18 year old .
Don’t mock Chris because you have the Lamborghini it’s in the eye of the beholder that things are pleasing.🇬🇧👍❤️ Dave
That's a nice old solid car. Definitely worth a restoral. 👍👍👍👍
ОтветитьHave to admit not my cuppa tea, but knowing Chris he'll make a nice job of it. A nice solid example
ОтветитьThe beauty of the HA is they are so easy to work on, so good luck Chris with rebuilding your dream.
ОтветитьIs there a follow up to this video anywhere please?
ОтветитьAbsolutely fantastic what a find a true classic car well done criss, it will turn some eyes when it's done
Ответитьin my opinion the are better than a ford escort rarer. the ha are good cars get a blienstein engine in it and you got a brillient car well done chris for saving it.
ОтветитьI used to do accident recovery on the A3 Esher got a call to a shunt where a Viva hit a Peugeot 504 up the back, to my surprise the Viva had a damaged bumper and front panel but was safely drive able but the Peugeot needed a rear lift the whole back end was jammed down onto the rear wheels it was a financial write off the insurance engineer did not believe us when we told him a Viva hit it
ОтветитьThe lad is happy. And that is good.
ОтветитьIf you're into a particular car, you're into it - it doesn't have to make sense to anyone else. The HA isn't my cup of tea, but I can see that this one is too good to go to waste and if it's as solid as it looks, it'll be rarer than hens' teeth.
ОтветитьGood on you Chris love the HA viva my first car
ОтветитьHi lads love your vids please keep them coming.
That is a real little gem incredibly clean for one those, as soon as you said the back was sitting a bit low l guessed the engine etc was in the boot.
I and many others would love to see little gem running and driving, but PLEASE PLEASE don’t fit the other engine, with the service history the engine will probably only need the water ways pressure washing out as most cars of that era never used antifreeze so rust used to block the waterways in the engine and radiator, hence they used to boil up.
Might be an idea to take the head off and check for any warpage though, that done and possibly a new rad it should be good to go.
Worth doing especially as u have spares car hmm c20 let turbo lol nah sure better standard or period mods
ОтветитьI worked for a Vauxhall Bedford Main Dealer in the 70s and 80s and always remember these , The Van version went on until 1982..I can still smell the newness of them when doing the pre-delivery checks !
ОтветитьGood car
ОтветитьI would keep the original engine block to keep the cars numbers matching.
Ответитьput that old engine back in, numbers matching with full service history is worth alot more, recore the rad skim the head an good to go
ОтветитьWhen I worked for Ladbrokes as regional stores assistant controller in Bristol, I had an HA van it was very reliable and fun to drive. Used to take it all over the region as far as Plymouth and it never let me down. Great find Chris!
ОтветитьMy first Vauxhall was the same in white FDU760C !!
ОтветитьMy first car when I passed my test and saved my life when a BMW run a Red light and hit me . Spun me round but obliterated the the beemer
ОтветитьGive the old steel wheels a dunt with a hammer 🔨 brakes will release
ОтветитьPut a v8 with a turbo in it just for a laugh I 've been in a metro with v8 in it stage 2 rally car many many years ago the engine filled all the space behind the drivers seat u will have to throw the vivas cluch away just not strong enough great video
Myself I would love a Ford pop with v8 and twin turbos as a daily driver 😁
