Gohan was a completely wasted character. I used to think that Chi Chi was to blame and so I hated her with everything in me, turns out the English dubs basically just threw her under the bus. She tried to help him learn to fight too but he just never wanted to learn, he prefers studying and so once she realized that she just quit trying to get him to fight and decided she'd push him to be the best at whatever he wanted, which was being "a scholar" lol. Most of us kids who grew up watching DB and DBZ in the 90s and 00s in English didn't get those bits mostly.

In any other multiverse id be okay with his choice, but he's supposed to be smart, the sheer amount of people with the power to blow up planets with a fart in his universe should let him know that he is in a world where he needs to be strong above everything, if nothing else he could at least use his knowledge to build himself some tech to keep himself and his family safe.

But no, he doesn't wanna train usually, he wants to do little spurts of training and then he'll get a lucky power up due to his insane potential and Saiyan/human combo power and once it happens he's so prideful that he starts toying with his opponents. Dude legit got Goku killed twice by my counting (Raditz and Cell) and worst of all he's basically like an RPG character who is level 100, but he's got like 70 attribute points sitting around unspent

Goten and Trunks realistically have greater potential than any of their predecessors. At like 7yrs old bit of them went super saiyan. Achieved fusion with ssj3 only seeing it be done once. Truly gifted but neglected characters
