Nothing to be ashamed of. Called to the vocation of the priesthood and marriage as well. Maybe you can go back some day if the church allows married priests.

One thing jumps out to me from this ex-priest's statement....... he loved the preaching and he loved hearing confessions best because he was good at both. He also loved travelling. Sadly he didn't so much as give a mention to the fact that he had the miraculous gift of being able to change the bread and wine into the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Christ at the Consecration at Mass.
Seminarians are trained in self-awareness and self examination; it seems he didn't rally bother with that so that's his failure - not the failure of the seminary.

Luckily, the novus ordo rites are invalid anyway, so you actually have never become a priest.

Why don't you ask for laicization from your diocese, a request which probably would be elevated to Rome? I was at first shocked to hear your story, but then after I thought about it I realized that you may be guided by the Holy Ghost to do exactly what you are doing. Your channel is fantastic and you are doing precisely what led to others achieving the stage of 'Servant of God'. Unlike many Catholics who went to other Protestant denominations, you have preserved your devotion (hyperdulia) to Mary and, if this condition remains, she will intercede for you to continue your mission safeguarded from any of the demons who tempt priests, such as Asmodeus. You are correct that the promotion of belief in Purgatory is tatamount to soul and world salvation. Even the great Protestant Christian apologist C. S. Lewis (Anglican) came to believe in Purgatory because it made so much sense; it was a theological concept toward which his spiritual meditation tended. I read once that fallen priests who descend into Hell (they would have to have been very evil for that to happen) are forever punished by the glowing and burning of their two consecrated fingers with which they had dispensed the Eucharist. I do not believe this will happen to you. I think the Holy Ghost turned you away from the Priestly Ministry to another kind of Ministry that can reach more people. And to do that you needed the space of the Laity. I see everything unfolding with you, Alvaro, as it should, and with Christ, not the Evil One, in control.

Im an ex RC monk. Luther did not want to leave the Church. They kicked him out. Jesus is my priest. One and only. He is my righteousness, my hope and my salvation. My best works are filthy rags and the false path of asceticism and medieval salvation by sacramental increments can't do it. Purgatory is not going to save you! It is nowhere in scripture and is a terrible medieval western idea: temporal hellfire to cleanse your soul? And the blood of Jesus did what?? You seem sincere, but are you flogging a dead horse? Enforced celibacy? Even a non biblical priesthood...the list just expands. Get into the freedom of a biblical Christian. Its a broken institution and purgatory is NOT going to fix that!!!

""It isn't cool to be an ex Priest" No it isn't. I read up on the laicization of Priests who do it willingly and that the church approves it but they tell you such a marriage is to be LOW KEY for the fact that people will be scandalized and conclude 'its ok now for Priests to Marry" Did they Not tell you this? Or is it just another thing you decided isn't something you should be bound to? I mean since we are being open and honest as you said - it makes me feel like the child of a divorced parent - you break the vows of one spouse so you can go take up new ones with the other. You are a very confusing person and it breaks my heart when Priests leave the Priesthood willingly as I have a daily devotion of praying for them and its bad enough we have all these ones that are forced to leave. So just being honest I wish you had not said anything about it because honesty does not always require that we reveal everything private. I wish you the best in life and life ever lasting.

I am glad you left the church of Satan . I studied the Catholic Church for 12 years and it almost destroyed me mentally and physically as well as almost destroying my relationship with my daughter. I almost lost her. I am a staunch atheist now and I will remain that way. Any time soon now we will see the destruction of the Catholic Church about 2030. It will be no more. Another thing I noticed after leaving the harlot of Satan The Catholic Church was just how insane Catholics are. To think I had coffee with these fruitcakes after Catholic Mass everyday.

Scrupulosity (often conflated with OCD) is a huge problem in Our Church, but very few people who are truly pious actually break out of it. It is not uncommon for scrupulous people to despair and jump ship. The biggest issue is that people believe that their salvation is in danger if they don't do EVERYTHING perfectly or with the purest of intentions. One of the greatest lies the enemy has taught is that you are not lovable unless you do everything right. Scrupulous people, both lay and religious, will suffer greatly on account of this.
What has helped me and helped others is recognizing that there is nothing you can do to make God love you more nor love you less. He loves you regardless of what you do or say. Because He loves us, I actively choose with the full force of my will to never do anything to grievously offend Him. That doesn't make me perfect. That doesn't mean I won't make a mistake. It just means I will try to do what I can in every present moment, recognizing that I will never be truly perfect in this life. My imperfections keep me dependent on God. I do the best I can while recognizing my limitations, allowing God to do the rest.

Read the bible. religion will not save you. The Catholic Religion is more tradition than anything. When you repent of your sins and have a relationship with Jesus then and only then will you be saved. I used to be Catholic and now Iam a Christian. Jesus Loves You!

I was confirmed as a Baptist Minister in 2001. It wasnt blessed by my mother who didnt want to be a pastor's wife herself. "Waste of my money, time, life, etc..." But she showed up to watch me get an award she didnt understand for a degree she chose to denounce.
I too went on to get a Life Coaching diploma. I wanted a healing ministry. I learned a LOT of skills but I still had hididen trauma from neglect.
I found a group working to raise consciousness about food choices, art, and community living within the psychedelic and yoga research community.
They dont resonate with God's righteousness nor hold to their own standards!
I long to make a difference but I feel attacked on every side while looking for belonging. My nickname in Bible College was "Lutheria" because I ran for Student Union Vice President and jokingly was selling indulgences to get votes via Charlemagne's Edict. Yeah..
