'The Beatles invented grunge' thats true. Some of their songs like 'Yer Blues' and 'Helter Skelter' sound like the grunge of their time. And also John Lennon songs like 'Cold Turkey', 'Well Well Well' are pretty grunge. John Lennon was the biggest Kurt Cobain's hero. The Beatles inspired grunge bands such as Pearl Jam, Soundgarden and especially Nirvana. And why is there no mention of Neil Young? Everyone says that he invented grunge back in the early 70s, thanks to the sound of his songs (especially with the band Crazy Horse), as well as his appearance in the form of torn trousers and plaid shirts, which were then worn by grunge bands in the 90s.

Grunge was the creation of the Alternatrash/slackertrash movement aka the modern communist druggie hippie movement. The whiny entitled snowflakes who created the bowl movement known as the occupy movement a bunch of moronic communist who were pushing the proved to be a lie of The 1 percent don't pay their fair share. only idiots who never ran a business buys into that lie. So you have these group of lazy musicians, bands who took the laziness from punk music where they were too lazy or stupid to learn more than 3 chords. to take it to the tenth degree, where grunge were too lazy to even tune their instruments, too lazy to take care of their instruments. So as the Sub genre of alternatrash Grunge, tried and failed to kill true traditional metal so they created the alternatrash sub genre cheap knockoffs with Nu metal, All the Cores, Emo, Techno, Djent, Industrial, Electronica, EDM, then adopted Black and death metal, then added stoner rock/metal to it the alternatrash genre. The only Reason Grunge came to be was due to the Record labels using the tactic they did with pop artists and still do which is overexpose the scene with fake metal bands aka poser bands, knockoff metal bands (posers) which you see alot of them in the decline of western civilization movie. they only got signed due to record labels only wanted those who do the whole girly makeup and clothing, bandanas tied to everything, extremely teased and highlighted hair, spandex image of all the bands that record labels were pushing in the last bit of the 80's to 90's the fans knew those bands were posers with poser musicand were not authentic. so grunge and alternatrash came along and become the cool thing and you had fake metal fans aka bandwagon/fairweather fans who jump ship and move to the next flavor of the moment when a band or music becomes unpopular. Me i stayed true and ended up being bullied and assaulted for standing with and being loyal to true metal. In fact i wrote mtv and told Matt Pinfield he needed to apologize for his derogatory comment about metal calling what is really known as Glam metal he called it hair metal/hair bands. he called me and told me he would on the next 120 minutes but never did. From the laziness of grunge you got nu metal with the lazy vocalist vocals known as growl vocals which never was, never will be METAL. Today we have the very definition of a poser band known as Steel Panther still trying to push that crappy image that should stay dead. they try to bring back the groupie thing. That Image and the Groupie thing was the 2 things was the reason Metal was not taken serious as it is of a music genre. But Grunge is next to pop music and EDM, EMO and Electronica and polka and punk as the biggest jokes and embarrassments of the music genres. That is the stone cold brutal absolute truth whether you like it or not

I was a teenager & a metalhead when Nirvana came out of nowhere. I was hooked, grunge was so different & I FINALLY had more music I could relate to, not the bubble gum pop that was huge then. I still have all my old CD's, mp3 player & Walkman that used 10 AA batteries lol!

Seeing Alice in Chains with Primus, RATM, and Tool at Lollapalooza 1993 in New Orleans was a highlight of my Jr High years. I'll never forget AIC opening with Them Bones that night.
