Anyway, this may sound weird but there is something called Mang Tomas All Purpose Sauce that is amazing on pork roasts. I think it would be great on this pork belly. My parents are filipino and it is a staple over there.
For the weak hearted, Just taste the sauce, before reading the ingredients.
Could you try the foil boat method with the pork belly. It works so well with Brisket, Pork Shoulder, and Ribs. Give it a try.

ОтветитьFor everyone thinking of trying this, it's an appetizer at best for a large party. You will not be able to sit down and eat any significant portion of it as a main course. There is simply too much fat. You will become ill. Just consider that before you waste your day cooking it like I did

ОтветитьI have done the maple bourbon burnt ends a couple of times. They were hard to beat. Last time I wanted something different and did a honey soy with spicy honey.. I didn't think the maple bourbon could be beat, but the honey soy could be better. It is worth trying if you can.
