ОтветитьJugo keeps the button he received from Bazz-B on the sword's hilt, you can actually see it in the episode
ОтветитьLittle fun detail:
Haschwalth is Stern Ritter "B"
Bazz is Stern Ritter "H"
They have each other's initials as their Schrift.
Ichibei used Peridna to seal away Yuha almighty in their meeting during the flashback of ep 24
Ответить[Tidbits Ep.37][Lot of Reading for Those Interested]
- As mentioned before Lille’s Vollstandig design takes obvious visual elements from Seraphim (Biblical angels that act as gods spokesmen). This sort of second evolution is further proof of it, aside from having 8 wings, Seraphims are also often depicted as serpent-like creatures bathed in fire or red. (This isn’t 1 to 1, Kubo throws his own unique spin on it by using white instead of red and adding an owl-like face)
- We learn here about Shunsui's struggle with death and responsibility, which adds to the sense of tragedy we often feel about his character. Even within this arc it happens again, Yamamoto and Jushiro died leaving him with even greater responsibilities. When you think about his actions, his willingness to do whatever is necessary, it makes much more sense now, for him he has to win because he carries those deaths and responsibilities with him as best as he can.
(The concept of him sharing the burden of responsibility instead of taking it on all by himself was impressively expressed through his moment with Nanao)
(As an aside, if you listen to what his Zanpaktou is saying, it heavily alludes to Shunsui being suicidal)
- Many fans often questioned the Nanao ancestral blade concept, feeling that it’s (understandably) overly convenient, and came completely out of the blue. but, as I’ll express again later, Kubo tends to have lore in mind long before it’s revealed. This is why Nanao wasn’t shown in fights, she doesn’t even have a named Zanpaktou and if you recall her moments in the Soul Society arc, she didn’t even carry a blade with her even when the restrictions were lifted (I.e In a story where the strength of the Zanpaktou is primarily how one's strength is judged, it’s obvious that Kubo not showing hers meant something was being set up. It’s more likely that Lille was made in part to delve into this plotline)
- Sidenote: Additionally Nanao's last name is “Ise” which is likely in reference the famous Ise Shrine in Japan. It’s a landmark with deep historical and religious importance.
- Sidenote 2: It was way back in April of 2007, Chapter 158 that we learn about Shunsui Hairpin and the Kimono from bonus pages in the manga. It’s only of note because many don’t know that Kubo tends to invent characters with tons of lore but he picks and chooses when to reveal it(sometimes he just keeps it tucked claiming “it’s a secret”). The Content covered here happens in chapter 652, a long way away from 158.
- Sidenote 3: Another point to consider is that thus far every OG royal guard member has turned into or was some divine eldritch creature

The couple that took care of nanao look oddly similar to kyoraku, one theory is that it was kyoraku's parents/grandparents that took care of her
Ответитьniece by marriage? huh? She's his niece by niece wtf lol
Ответить[Thoughts EP.38][Lotta reading sorry, just an ep that I have so many thought about]
- Haschwalth obviously dealt with physical abuse from his Uncle, but with the scene and voices here in the anime it's believed that he’s also dealing with sexual abuse. The lines “You can’t do anything without me” and how twisted the Uncle’s voice became when he said “my precious Jugo” seems to suggest as much. This reality certainly plays a role in Haschwalth's need to feel useful or wanted without circumstance.
- We learned a few things from Kluboutside, for example Bazz-B’s and Haschwalths Schrifts are a reference to their friendship. Bazz-B has H and Haschwalth has B. We also know that those Schrifts are based on trauma’s and we see here that Bazz-B’s clan was burned down. (Additionally this battle was eluded too when Haschwalth was caught in Senjumaru’s Bankai)
- As you said, whats interesting with Bazz-B and Hascwalth is that though Bazz-B proclaims that the revenge is for both of them, we never hear it from Hascwalth himself. It’s likely that Hascwalth actually had little issue with what happened given that he was being abused, but he was simply trying to help the only living person he cared for however he could, cause he wanted to be useful.
- As noted by some, this friendship was always unfortunately built upon weak foundations despite that fact that they did care for each other. A point that always stood out to me was how Jugram said from the start that he didn't like being called Jugo (obviously cause that's what his abuser called him), but Bazz-B never stopped. This occurs because despite how much they cared for each other, neither properly took the time to understand the other. The relationship wasn't made on equal footing, For Bazz-B, Jugram was someone he was helping and bringing along his adventure and to Jugram, Bazz-B was a Bandaid for his Trauma. True Friends don't only help or care for one another, they must also put in the work to try and understand each other.
- “Worth” is a Major theme here between these two friends, even when Bazz-B believes that Haschwalth has no worth in regards to getting revenge he still chooses to keep him by his side, but the reality remains that he doesn’t need Haschwalth, but with Yhwach’s arrival Bazz-B is made aware that the roles were actually reversed. This realization hurts Bazz-B’s pride and the way he looks at Haschwalth is the nail in the coffin, Jugram already felt he had little purpose, the only link chaining them together was the believed care for one another. The issue is that Haschwalth has a warped understanding of worth and relationships due to his abuse, for him “worth” is to be wanted and needed and a relationship must result in something being gained. Regardless, In this moment Jugram began to feel that Bazz-B no longer wanted, needed or cared him, and here you have Yhwach offering Jugram the exact opposite. [Personally I believe Yhwach used his foresight to manipulate this situation into happening, he seemed to know the best words to used and suspiciously let Bazz-B live when he destroyed his entire family]
- Sidenote: Kubo tends to make a duo with this opposing dynamic every major arc, and they always get the chance to fight. Byakuya/Renji, Ulquiorra/Grimmjow, and Haschwalth/Bazz-B
- Sidenote 2: I feel as viewers we are meant to think of worth and how people use it, how it affects the relationships between people, especially Yhwach and his followers or Ichigo and Uryu.

It doesnt stop with with the sword and the hair pins. Yamamoto left him with the burden of being head captain and his best friend ukitake left him with the burden of his ideals. Shunsui really has a lot to shoulder in general.
ОтветитьLillie changing forms into this unrecognizable owl monstrosity was very controversial back in the day. But why it really fits for me now is because of this arc’s themes.
The Vandenreich are supposed to be representative of a fascist government. You know the one I mean.
But anyway his owl form is (to me) representative of the Quincy Everyman, who, after completely taking in all the false propaganda, essentially becomes someone completely unrecognizable to his former self, a self righteous fool who only serves as a trumpet 🎺 or a mouthpiece to the ideas of the government. He was taken over by a spirit or transformed and now believes that their judgement is righteous and correct (I say this solely because Owl Lillie is clearly not the same person personality wise as he was before).
I believe the thing bazz gave jugo is imbedded in his sword u can see it in a couple shots
ОтветитьThe timeline is very blurry but the jugo bazz flashback is from a lil more than 1000 years ago. And yhwach knew bc of almighty what happened to jugo that‘s why he also talked much more fatherly than to others. He knew how vulnerable jugo was and groomed him into what he wanted him to be. And also in jugos eyes yhwach saved him from his abusive uncle. Unfortunately jugo and bazz never truly understood each other’s motives. Bc bazz wanted yhwach dead and jugo just wanted to feel important and useful. Such a good flashback!
ОтветитьYeah Quincy lived on earth, the friend flashback was the earliest we've seen earth in the late 990s or early 1,000s shortly before Yhwach meets Ichibei and before the original war with the soul society
Yhwach was currently conquering and snuffing out any royal family so the quincy would worship him
I think you guys are misunderstanding jugram. He never hated ywhach like bazz, ywhach basically saved him from abuse. Ywhach told him for once he was needed unlike everyone telling him that he needs them.
ОтветитьReally cool to see Nanao's moment come to life alongside Shunsui deep frying Chicken Lille lul
ОтветитьBazz vs Jugram was phenomenal and the pain/feels watching it all unfold was crazy good
ОтветитьLile Barro is awesome! Stylist, beautifully dark-skinned, strong af, and enigmatic. Love him so much! <3
ОтветитьJugo's creepy uncle: "You need me, Jugo"
Bazz-B: "You need me, Jugo"
Yhwach: "I need you, Jugram Haschwalt"
No shit he went to Yhwach.
Also, idk if you noticed, but in the beginning of the episode you can see the pin Bazz gave him in the flashback in the sword hilt of Jugram's sword xD
Happy new year, guys!
ОтветитьThe animation was amazing for these episodes!! But then again, all the episodes have been strong for this cour. Awesome backstories as well!!
ОтветитьYou are back baby
ОтветитьMissed you two 💜
ОтветитьPeakest episode
ОтветитьAnti spiral
ОтветитьOf course the ost are amazing, the man who behind Bleach ost is the legendary Shiro Sagisu
ОтветитьYou forgot that Shunsui's master Yamamoto also died and left him his position as Head captain.
ОтветитьTo explain the Quincy's Litch empire. Yes it is in human world. It happened 1000 years ago before Ichibe sealed Yhwach's Almighty. They had a whole city roughly the same size as Soul Society. Many Quincys lived outside of the city and hated Yhwach because he was going around conquering peaceful Quincys outside the city. There were conflicts amongst themselves. When Quincys kill Hollow, they don't recycle the souls like Shinigami. They destroy the souls completely, and that causes imbalance. For that reason Soul Society kept an eye on them. Eventually it led to the purge of Quincys. Yamamoto and the first set of Gotei 13 killed most of them and destroyed their empire. After that Yhwach went to hide in the shadows in Wandenreich. Note how they were using "guns" 1000 years ago. Yhwach saw the future and brought the knowledge to their timeline. In the flashback, Bazz called them "mysterious power". More traditional Quincys like Ishida family who branched away from Yhwach used bows and different techniques.
ОтветитьWe missed u in bleach..dont be late
ОтветитьThe badge that Bazz gave to Jugo has letter "B" in it. Which he has put on his sword.
ОтветитьYeah you can understand the general history of Bleach in 1 watch, but there is no way to get all the amazing details, foreshadowings and parallels, some by design from the start, some as Kubo wrote and found cool connections...
Haschwalth watching hard over Ishida, cause maybe a bit, Ichigo is to Uryu what BazzB is to Jugram
Do i kill my friend?
So the reason Quincys destroys the balance is bcs when soul reapers kill hollows they are actually sending that hollow's soul to soul society completing the cycle and cleansing those souls of their sins while Quincys simply destroys that hollows soul when killing them. Therefore they destroy the balance.
Which is why ywhach is so mad at the soul king for splitting the world into 3 where Quincys have no purpose. In ywhach's mind every one has a place in the 3 worlds and a purpose, soul reapers have soul society and their purpose is balance, hollows have hueco mundo and mortals have the mortal plane then we have Quincy's who are kinda left behind when the soul king split the world in 3, bcs they can't even do what they are born to do, killing hollows which by the way are their mortal enemies. Even uryu who's trying to take down ywhach hates hollows with a passion 😂
Another fun fact: look up Jugram and Bazz's birthdays and then look up Ichigo and Uryu's birthdays.
ОтветитьShiro Sagisu does the tracks for Bleach (and Evangelion aswell!). I love him he's my favourite composer
ОтветитьI can tell she shave
Ответитьbeautiful
ОтветитьBreathtaking episodes.
ОтветитьYall caught most of the subtleties in Jugram and Bazz's conflict and dilemma, appreciate that. Makes the discussions really interesting. They couldn't communicate their feelings because of their upbringing which eventually led to this episode. Great reaction & discussion as always!
ОтветитьThey changed the manga's wording for the better. In Nanao's speech about how the "person she' ADMIRES" would smile and laugh at the family curse affecting him...... the manga used a different phrase. The manga said the "man she LOVES" would smile and laugh at the curse. The manga made it seem incesty. They made it more wholesome and normal in the anime.
ОтветитьAfter really thinking about it, are we really sure Kyoraku is blood related to his brother. I had feeling in past that his relationship with Yamamoto is adopted family. Maybe he wasn't blood related to this brother also. Like yes they look alike. But so does Aizen and Nakk Le Varr!
