I had a hedgie friend when I lived in west africa. Someone plucked him straight from the bush and knew I would love him. Sadly, he died from eating poisonous bugs. I cry whenever I remember this. I feel a similar pain for you.

@renandstimpyfan1234 well. i just held him alot more and got him used to my voice and beign held by me and then he came around. just give him treats after you hold him or give him a bath.. or while your holding him to let him know that its a good thing to be held and not a scary experience. hope it goes well :]]]]

mine died of cancer

This video was so cute and very sad... I have a hedgehog and he's slowly coming around to me. I just have one question: what was in the container that had the quarter next to it?

@MakeupAndTheCity I believe I answered that question previously, but there have been many comments since then, so... That was the cancerous tumor removed from his abdomen. I remember it being his testicle, but my wife thinks it was a lymph node. It's been awhile.

All I know for sure is that he had testicular cancer, but his coordination suffered and degraded quickly after his surgery. I suspect he did have WHS, but he wasn't actually diagnosed with it by a veterinarian.

:( I'm crying!!!! I don't know, I'd be very very very sad if my hedge die :( he's an awesome baby!!!!!

My first hedgehog was also named Yozhik. He had WHS and lost his battle with the disease last Summer. :(
