Konnan & Disco review AEW Dynamite 14th May 2025

I think this MJF and Hurt Syndicate storyline is the greatest angle in modern wrestling history and it's going to make business really good for WWE... oh wait did I say MJF & Hurt Syndicate? I meant to say Sami Zayn & The Bloodline.

BECAUSE IT'S THE EXACT SAME ANGLE.

Is this a re-upload or something? Or are you playing old Disco clips? I'm just asking because Disco says the exact same stuff, over & over again, no matter what show is being reviewed.

Do the reviews without Disco, he's adding nothing and he keeps cutting Konnan off.

I seriously cannot understand the logic behind keeping the title on Moxley. Tony Khan has had so many chances to change how bad AEW business has been (All In 2025 tickets are still not sold out) yet he refuses to change.

If you ever wanted confirmation of how easily worked/ pushed around Tony Khan is, Sammy Guevara makes a subtle complaint online about his booking and he then instantly gets put into a PPV match.

I loved the fact that no one made any noise for Gabe Kidd. That's the exact type of wake up call that Tony Khan really needed.

If ratings went up and Jericho wasn't on the show, Adam Copeland wasn't on the show.... what does that tell you?

May 14 event took so long that the crowd started chanting jokes on Wheeler during Wheeler vs Hobbs match Collision match.

Disco complains about the work of these modern performers well, when you have Performance Centers and not territories or you have these rough shod indie promotions where they only focus on high spots and risky bumps, you end up getting the product you see in both companies. Only the guys over 35, with the exception of Bron Breakker, know how to properly execute in the ring. Everyone else is garbage.

Disco is so right about the annoying forearm spots which no one sells and they look fake anyway and the thigh slapping and the chop battles, I roll my eyes and groan when I see this , sometimes I hit fast forward as it looks so bad. Like Eddie Kingston when he does his rapid chops but you can see he is hardly touching the guy with his hand but his other hand is slapping his leg to make a sound and he does this until he blows himself up and needs to rest to catch his breath, it's so embarrassing as a fan to watch that, that isn't pro wrestling, pro wrestling is supposed to be the illusion of a fight and a struggle, not a leg slapping competition.

However, I disagree when people say "It's like they do in Japan" because they they might do that now but in the 90s and early 2000s they would do these spots but it looked like they were really drilling each other. Kobashi had some hand flappy chops sometimes but overall, those guys in Japan were hitting each other hard and they didn't need to make the sound by slapping their legs. That's why it was called Hard Style because they were very snug. In AEW they don't do hard style, they do soft style. It's amateurs cosplaying professionals. As a long time fan that's what it looks like to me.

I’m not sure why they’re so confused about next week contract signing for MJF to become an official member of The Hurt Syndicate. Konnan and Disco are always proclaiming their wealth of knowledge in the wrestling business and they constantly bury and discredit wrestling media and fans for their lack of wrestling knowledge. When they do these reviews and they seem to be less than knowledgeable about the subject matter and over talk each which makes an unpleasant viewing experience.


It seems clear to me what direction this angle is going. Next week contract signing is leading up to the AEW debut of Cedric Alexander rejoining The Hurt Syndicate which makes MJF look stupid and gullible if he falls for this. On side note, why are the tag team champions in an angle with MJF and they only credible teams FTR is an angle with 67 year old Tony Schiavone, 49 year old semi-retired Nigel McGuinness and Danny Garcia.

Always thought some of the best punches were in the Memphis territory. Lawler, Rich, Dundee, Idol, etc.. they need to study those tapes.

I'm not sure why these details are so hard to comprehend. Gabe Kidd has appeared in AEW before last week's show. Kidd made his All Elite Wrestling (AEW) debut on the June 26, 2024 episode of Dynamite, appearing ringside as a spectator. On the June 28 episode of the now defunct Rampage, Kidd teamed with Roderick Strong to defeat The Infantry (Carlie Bravo and Shawn Dean). Gabe Kidd returned to AEW on the February 22, 2025 episode of AEW Collision, defeating The Butcher. That took two seconds just doing a good search. Konnan always talks about something being Jojo, not knowing details about the show you're reviewing is Jojo to me.

The newer generation seems to be missing the fundamentals. Indie dreamers are running the so called schools and bad habits are getting passed around. They can’t punch and kick effectively and realistically because they have not seen or had a real fight in their lives. Everything is video game fantasy nonsense and the As Seen On TV replication. Look at Disco’s guy, Kross. He was trained by DI and Disco has realized that Kross is picking up the stupid thigh slaps.

I was confused about the ending of the main event. The referee saw Moxley hit Joe with the briefcase. So that would indicate no DQ. But there was rope breaks. If the there is no DQ, why would they need to let go of submission because of rope breaks.
