I just know that Pep will start Nunes on the left on Sunday. I'm starting to see what Pep sees in him. Pep loves these players that are just a pool of undefined talent that he can shape to be whatever he wants to perfect the system he builds around the players that create or finish chances. just like Grealish. He won't get the goals or to many aassists but fundamental to make a system tick and can always be relied upon to keep the ball and carry it under pressure in attack and defense. He has a lot to learn no doubt, but tbh I belive we still need to see more of him to even assess how much, and what exactly he needs to improve.
Making quality decisions in the final third in a Pep side, and always putting the team and the win first ain't easy. took Jacky boy a full season to reach the level he did last year. but his role and importance cannot be understated. Yet unfortunately he's become severely underrated by the media and sadly City fans alike. I guess my point is that firstly, I hope Nunes learns quick and shows the character, personality and passion to deveolp. work hard and prosper from the world calss sports men all around him. Game will come down to Pep defensive tactics. IF he plays wingbacks, MU will have chances to score. If he sets up like he did v Luton and Copenhagen, our back should be nice and tight. Praying Pep stops playing wingbacks as that is what has afforded so chances for conceding goals to most teams we’ve played. 🙏
