Great review. Your opinions really answered what I was wondering. I'm using the C7 with my R7 1700 in a Node202 and built this system the 1st week of May with the intention of replacing the motherboard (X370GTN) with an Asus when one lands. I want the front mounted M.2 and 8 USB ROGs usually offer and the better bios. To help make it worth the effort, I was also planning on swapping out the heatsink for a better one when one lands. Looks like I found it! Unless a Scythe Big Shuriken RevB for AM4 lands, this is it for sure.
I did find that the C7 is 295G w/o fan and the NH-L9 is 345G w/o fan, so I'm surprised that the 1-2C difference between the two was in favor of the C7. It does have less heat pipes so it's hard to tell. For heatsinks it's pretty tough to beat Noctua and this proves it yet again.
do you have a video talking about that display you velcro'd to the side of the case?
ОтветитьWould the criorig cooler work with an am4 board
ОтветитьThe Noctua is just ugly af.
ОтветитьFor really small itx cases and Ryzen builds, I would recommend the NH-L9a variant as it is 2-4C better under gaming or 100% loads. Also, making a simple fan duct on cases like the Dan A4, NFC S4 mini, Sentry itx, Silverstone RVZ01/02 cases helps a lot!
ОтветитьHopefully Dondan gets his slim, 6-heatpipe copper-based cooler out by next year. You guys can check out the progress on the HardForum SFF forum section or Small Form Factor forums!
ОтветитьWhy take the panel off when you have to put it back and do the same test?
Ответитьgreat music
ОтветитьThe noctua is rated for up to 65 watts while the cryorig up to 100 watts.
So to get adequate cooling go with cryorig. Its also cheaper!
do you think that changing the orientation of the fan in the opposite direction so that the fan blows air through the intake makes the temperature improved or not..
ОтветитьThanks! This helped since I am building a rig for my father in a Fractal Design Node 202, with Ryzen 1600 and the Noctua fan! :)
ОтветитьIm wondering about how they would perform with the thermal paste that they each came with in the box and how each of their customer services differ in quality.
Ответитьcase?
ОтветитьIm using a i5 7500 with a Lepa Aquachanger 240, in a Phanteks evolv itx, I know That I dont really need the liquid cooling for this cpu, but Im planning to buy the new evolv shift, and sell the evolv itx and the AIO, Im thinking about the cryorig and the Noctua... it seems that's the Shift looks better with aircooling, and its very restrictive with psu and liquid cooling, so with an i5 7500, the noctua or the C7 its good enough? Im not planning to overclock, etc... But also like good temperatures
ОтветитьYo so I have the c7 in the node 202 also with the i7 7700k, I delidded it and dropped 20 degrees. I added a 140mm slim profile case fan (also from cryorig) and now temps under load pretty much stay in the 70's. Oh yeah and that's with XMP enabled so I'm reaching 4.5ghz under load. I could probably get to 4.8ghz comfortably tho. The silverstone case you're using actually has better airflow so, if the silicone lottery gods have you in their favor, you could probably get to 5ghz if you have sufficient cooling
Ответитьthe video quality was not the best in the world but I think it was really good
Ответитьplease help.
i need a fan RGB like Ryzen cooler.
do you have any suggestion?? OK?? like Ryzen cooler. NOT A TOWER. landscape!!
Touching all those components..with the power still plugged in...for shame!
Ответитьso you cold turn up the fans, they are running low, noctua have some more headroom
ОтветитьThanks for this informative video. I am researching a mini-itx build using the node 202. The noctua seems to fit my needs. I am interested in the keyboard you are using. Can you tell me what brand and model it is? TIA.
ОтветитьI have been looking at the portable monitor, is there any flex in the back, have you had any issues? is that the 2k version?
ОтветитьI blinked and missed the graphs.
ОтветитьTY for this, been looking at going for a minimonster for my next build and this testing is perfect, using an LP cooler in the form factor it is meant for! looking at going Silverstone RVZ03 case, and TBH the noise issue is that the fan or the cooler, like switching the fan for a different one?
ОтветитьWhat's your PC's Case & the Monitor on the case itself? IT looks interesting.
ОтветитьList the full rig setup on the description box next time.
ОтветитьPeople (in THIS comment section) have been saying stuff about delidding the CPU, should I do it after a certain amount of time or immediately? and does it improve any temps with cryorig c7?
Ответитьwould you recommend these coolers on a mid tower?
Ответитьisnt it the Cryorig C7 has 100 TDP and Noctua NH‑L9i 65TDP ? how come the result is so bad on the C7
ОтветитьGreat video, really helps deciding which cooler to get
ОтветитьIf there are space over you can put a regular 92mm fan on the Noctua since it uses a slim fan to save space.
ОтветитьThe C7 has older Paste
ОтветитьWoah, I’ve never seen someone mount a monitor on their rig, looks awesome!
ОтветитьGreat video, concise, direct and to the point, thank you.
ОтветитьNot trying to be negative here, but the thing of value in this video is the test data, which was on screen for about 30 seconds total. Meanwhile there was almost four minutes of video showing fans spinning which really didn't contribute anything useful. Seeing the data from the two fans side by side would have been very helpful.
Ответить“Both of them performed very well, both of them worked really well” 😂 😂 😝
ОтветитьIdea: C7 Heatsink with Noctua fan. Both coolers are rated at 600-2500rpm, so, having the heatsink of C7 (which in my opinion seems to be more capable due to 4 heatpipes vs 2) with the more silent fan from the Noctua one, could probably get better results. If someone has space, can even fit the NF-A9 PWM (which is only 11mm thicker) and has around 55% more airflow, probably lowering the temps even further.
PS: i know this video has more than a year, but is still actual, as the low profile coolers market hasn't changed much.
WHAT CASE IS THIS? WE NEED MORE INFO
ОтветитьWhich CPU is tested? Very hard to filter the results and test details out of this almost 7 min video :-/
Ответитьsometimes, the only reason ill buy a low profile CPU cooler is because im scared that a beefy heat sink might fall on my GPU and break the PCIE slots.
ОтветитьI think most of us here are more interested in noise levels. Almost any CPU cooler can keep a CPU from overheating... That's kinda why you look at Noctua, is to get something quiet..
ОтветитьShould have displayed the CPU its TDP in the results also whcih other case fans were were being used and in which configuration. Noctua Nh-l9i has a max rating of 65W so an i5 8600k has a 95w TDP but an i7 8700 is 65W. Seems to be a lot of info missing from the tests
ОтветитьGoing with the Noctua NH‑L9i in a 1.88 liter case (Silverstone VT02) which I'm using as a server. My choice is based due to wanting lower noise and price.
ОтветитьCryorig C1 is the best low profile cooler.
ОтветитьSeems similar sized coolers are similarly effective.
Who would have thought. XD
The noise I guess is the fans...
Noctua fans are evidently very quiet.
I have a C7 copper, which I suppose didn't exist 3 years ago.
It's one of the prettiest CPU coolers I've seen in a long time, but that's generally not the best thing to look for in a CPU cooler. XD
White fan + full copper construction makes an interesting visual contrast though.
The copper version of the cooler does perform notably better, but not well enough to make any kind of huge difference...
which cpu did you used?
ОтветитьNot even gonna watch bc I know the winner.
ОтветитьWhats the cpu
ОтветитьI got a C7 CU with that Noctua fan in a Node 202. Best of both worlds. With a recently printed fan-duct.
ОтветитьHow did you remove the c7 without taking it out of the case?? Because I have this and I want to replace my 3600 to 5800x3d with a undervolt but don't want to take the PC apart to swap it out. But I believe this cooler is screwed on from the back
